A stunning courtroom drama, taut, tantalising, deftly paced, with a denouement that will leave you reeling’ and while unlikable characters are usually a deal breaker, i never actually found myself hating the story or wanting to stop reading. which is why im going to round up my rating. Leeming manages to get well behind enemy lines when something goes wrong with his ship. Since he can't land it properly (you know, with the pointy end up and the fins end down) he has to crash land it on his side, and he finds himself trapped on a bureaucratic planet so far behind the lines than nobody really knows what a human is. Abdullah does an amazing job of portraying the emotions of the characters and exploring the trauma of the event. This side of the novel is too real, and it was hard to read. Watching the characters struggle to accept what happened tore my heart out.

Overall, this is immersive and compelling from start to finish and it makes you reel, your head in a spin with what you read. Highly recommended. Chloe’s character progression was just as solid. The way she started opening up to Warren and her friends about her past once she finally felt safe to do so was so natural and organic and I just loved her. If one child passed away before the deceased, their children (the deceased’s grandchildren) would then be entitled to receive their parent’s share of the inheritance.

Is next of kin responsible for funeral costs?

Was it truly a moment of forgetfulness? Being totally consumed by work and business thoughts? Or a deliberate act? This book was okay, I enjoyed it, but the romace was rushed, the change from dislike to love was fast, and the last third was just them having sex. This brilliantly plotted story of sacrifice, sibling rivalry, family dynamics, guilt, hidden secrets, and tragedy was fast-paced and riveting, from beginning to end.

Dissatisfied with the numbskulls around him on earth, Scout-Officer John Leeming volunteers to fly an experimentally fast space ship across the front lines and into enemy territory - the purpose, I guess, is to see how far it can go undetected, and if it is detected it must be destroyed. Who's the numbskull? Overall, I appreciated this for making me think, but it was too much to take emotionally-- I would not want to read it again. Probably one of the most intense, distressing, and tragic opening chapters that I’ve ever read. This is a true scenario from hell.When someone is seriously ill in hospital and unable to communicate themselves, hospital staff will keep their next of kin up to date on their progress. The next of kin may also be asked for their thoughts on what the person’s wishes might have been about their care.

This story isn’t super dramatic or have earth-shattering plot twists, but it was PERFECT to me. I would not change a single thing! This book was cute and funny but also showed the true strength of sibling love and how we can truly do anything we set our minds to. This book is another excellent bit of Russell, though to be read for fun rather than for any "message". This story starts out with Chloe finding out her birth mother (Chloe is 24 and was adopted) had another baby and can't take care of it. Not wanting her little sister to go through the same childhood she went through, Chloe decides she'll do whatever it takes to take care of and keep Willow.A devastating, horrific mistake. But the police believe otherwise, sensing there was more to this tragedy. Now this family will be torn apart in their private lives as well as in the courtroom. This book had no right making my heart swell as much as it did! Like it could have exploded from all the tender hearted and healing moments!! There’s nothing more I love than a romance story where two people not only heal through each other but find a home in each other as well. This book serves that up on a golden freaking platter!!!!! If a person dies without having a will in place then their estate will be administered and shared out in line with the rules of intestacy in England and Wales, which may not always match the person’s true, personal wishes. In the UK, there is no specific legal definition to define the meaning of ‘next-of-kin’ (sometimes referred to as ‘next to kin’) and to explain exactly who it should be.
