The X70 has the same or fewer megapixels than most current DSLRs, but the clever design of the Fuji's sensor makes it sharper than other cameras with the same number of megapixels. Honestly, so long as you have at least 6 to 10 megapixels, you have more than enough for anything, so this doesn't matter today for real photography. Before moving on, I’ll just mention geo-tagging in a bit more detail with an example. With a Wifi connection between the X70 and an Android or iOS phone running Fujifilm’s app, you can geo-tag your images as you take them. The implementation is the same as earlier Fuji cameras: you connect the camera and phone over Wifi, start the geo-tagging option in the app, then any picture you take over the next hour will be tagged with the location of the phone. It’s an interesting approach that’s different from rivals which typically record a GPS log in the phone that’s then synced later on with the images. The downside is relyin Finally, we come to the top of the camera. Here we have the same two dials found on the X100T: the shutter speed dial with a mechanical shutter speed of up to 1/4000 (1/32000 if you turn on the electronic shutter), Bulb, Time and Auto, and the exposure compensation dial with ±3 EV. You’ll also find the shutter button, Drive button, on/off switch, movie record button, Auto mode switch and hot shoe mount. The top plate of the X70 You can press MENU/OK > Wrench 1 > SCREEN SET-UP > and see the options for what displays on the screen, but I saw no mention of the level.

The tilting screen can be angled up or down or flipped up 180 degrees. Doing so activates a selfie mode, which is actually just face and eye detection. Unlike other cameras with more advanced selfie modes, you have to press the shutter button to take the shot. Still, it works like a charm! The camera has activated face detection because I flipped the screen up to take a selfie.Whilst this seems ineffective at first, combined with the raised rubber grip on the front of the camera, a good grip can be attained. As with other Fujifilm cameras with a 16MP sensor, the video quality is decent for casual or amateur shooting but more demanding users should turn their gaze to the various 4K offerings from Panasonic and Sony.

iPhones have about the same equivalent lens as this Fuji X70. iPhones have lenses a little faster, with a smaller sensor and very similar angle of view.

Speaking of customisable buttons, there is one that is so inconspicuous you may not even notice it. Function Button 7 (Fn7) protrudes very little and has no markings, but because it is located where your thumb sits when you support the camera with your left hand, it is actually quite useful. Natively, it changes the control ring settings but you can change it to your preferred function. Function Button 7 is in an odd yet very useful position. I started out with the X10- a Bayer, and was happy with that for a couple years, than got a XA1, also Bayer, with some great glass- 35/1.4, XC16-50, and 50-230. Later I got the 60mm for it's close up (not real macro but that's okay) capabilities Still happy with that but would like to upgrade to the XA3. When the X70 came out I couldn't wait for the XA3, so splurged on the X70 and have never regretted it. It takes a bit of getting used to the fixed lens but have really had great fun the last couple of months. The IQ is great, especially in low light and for street photography. This setting uses the mechanical shutter all the time, only working in electronic mode if the shutter speed needs to go above the current limit of the mechanical shutter. Ergonomics are swell; I wish every camera had dedicated aperture, shutter and compensation dials as does the X70. x-trans II film Sims do not look like the film Sims from other Fuji sensors, a bit too strong in the reds

The regular mechanical leaf shutter is silent from more than a few inches away, and the electronic shutter is completely silent. The X70 may be correcting distortion in-camera, so if you're shooting raw and using other software to open the files you may see something different. I'm shooting in-camera JPGs.Viewed at a reduced size, the teleconverter option seems ideal for situations when you want a tighter view, such as a portrait, but Fuji can’t perform miracles and as you’d expect, there’s no additional detail beyond the original 28mm version. Below are 100% crops from the middle of the 28mm and scaled 35mm and 50mm versions, where it’s clear to see the degree of real-life detail is no different between them. As such, you can achieve a similar effect yourself by simply shooting in the native 28mm and cropping later if desired. The XF10 can take great images, but operational quirks significantly dull the experience of shooting with it. The VF-X21 Optical Viewfinder allowed for shooters to bring the camera up to their eye and with printed guidelines inside the OVF, frame their composition like a rangefinder-style camera. This OVF was a high-quality build but came at a considerable price.

Iso dial instread of exposure comp. Or at better idea: to make it possible to chance the dial in somewhere in the settings. Maybe iso written on the buttondial, exposure comp on the side of the button (would be a wonderful Solution for all fujis- i dint get it that the iso dial is not as important as apenture and shutterspeed?)As I mentioned above, the battery life isn’t bad if you use the camera in Low performance mode but it is still a good idea to carry at least two for a full day of shooting. It takes the same batteries as the X100T. Unfortunately, the camera doesn’t come with a battery charger, so your only options are to either charge it via USB or buy a separate charger.
