The 2 birds at the end of each episode ask the child to remember what had happened and increases memory.

Suitcase, tambourine, and hoop are on the main menu whereas for some reason wind is listed in the features section. Roly mole and Rocket the frog are lovely characters for children to associate with Roly takes the form of a kind of teacher who tells stories relating to the subject and Rocket takes the form of the less intelligent, who the fimbles have to explain things to. I myself have developed a great affection for the Fimbles - I like to sing along with the songs, and my little nephew also likes to sing with me.His song about reading books is excellent and the story reading session in each episode is particularly popular. The upside is that the Fimbles are appealing to the young audience and hold the attention from at least 18 months to 3 years.

The English spoken and sung is very clear, the songs are catchy and the words are repeated enough times for children to grasp but not too many times to drive adults to distraction. Particularly great is the fact that the same songs are sung each episode by the different characters ('When you take a look inside a book' and the 'Let's go and see' song), and I think this gives Emily something to recognise each time. Jingly Hat: Baby Pom finds a hat with a jingly bell but can't keep it quiet during a game of hide and seek! The Fimbles are very appealing to children as they are brightly coloured, speak English clearly (except for Baby Pom), they play games and they sing songs. More often than not, the group is joined by the fluffy Mummy and egg family of Bessie and Ribble, whose wise observations always lead to a safety warning or two.
