While operating a fully professional mainstage, Pacific Theatre is also community based and offers non-professional community members opportunities to work along side theatre professionals in its community shows through its non-professional counterpart, Stone’s Throw Productions. Most Stone’s Throw shows are produced by our season apprentices. Disney fanatic, University of Guelph graduate, avid reader, table gamer, actress, dancer, choreographer, and connoisseur of local cuisine. Kaitlin cherished her friendships with others, and we are inviting any whose lives were touched by Kaitlin to join us in a celebration of her life on February 7, 2022 at 1:30 p.m., to be held at the Ron Maslin Playhouse in Kanata. In various capacities, Kaitlin has also worked with Bard on the Beach, the Arts Club, the Belfry, ITSAZOO, Delinquent Theatre, the Electric Company, Chemainus Theatre, Western Canada Theatre, Touchstone Theatre, Rumble Theatre, and many others. She has been grateful to receive Jessie nominations for both her acting and directing.

She was entirely fascinated when she set foot inside the White House Briefing Room for the first time. She found herself fantasizing about the days when she would be among the reporters who would be able to raise her hand from the first row to ask questions. Her dream turned into reality when The Daily Caller named her White House correspondent in January 2017. The Disappearing: A middle-class woman looking to disappear finds an unlikely connection with a homeless alcoholic in the alley she finds herself in. Another member of staff lied about having made visits to the family, because it was a 4.30pm visit and “out of her way”. She told me personally that she wasn’t going to do the visit as it would make her late home. She too was dismissed. Pacific Theatre’s apprenticeship program is a major component of its mandate to develop emerging artists and foster new work. Every season the theatre brings in a handful of up-and-coming theatre artists who are given training and opportunities to develop as professional artists. Features of the apprenticeship program include involvement in mainstage and second stage events, opportunities to shadow or understudy our professional artists, workshops, and the operation of Stone’s Throw Productions, our non-professional counterpart. Many apprentices have gone on to pursue professional careers as actors, writers, directors, stage managers, technicians, designers, and administrators. Pacific Theatre’s first-ever apprentice was local playwright and actress Lucia Frangione, and in 2011 apprentice Evan Frayne won the Sam Payne Award for Most Promising Newcomer. Both the social worker and her employer referred her to the HCPC. She was suspended for 12 months on two occasions, in 2015 and 2016, before a committee took a decision to strike her off last month. The Messiah is an exuberant Nativity-play-gone-wrong, appropriate for ages 5 to 105. Some jokes may go over younger audiences’ heads. Kaitlin Williams is an interdisciplinary theatre artist born and raised on the unceded, shared territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations. Since earning her BFA in Acting at the University of Victoria, she has shared her heart and skills with many productions as a director, actor, and costume designer. Collins was listed in the ’50 Most Influential People in News Media’ by Mediaite for three years in a row from 2018 to 2020. She was named one of ‘Crain’s NewsPro’s ‘12’ to Watch in TV News’ in January 2019. The same year, she was named one of Forbes magazine’s ’30 under30: Media.’ Is Kaitlan Collins Married?The last thing for any of us, I think, will be silence. Last month a panel concluded there was “no evidence” that the social worker had insight into her misconduct.As one of the authors (CSN), my own interactions with Kaitlin were most frequently in the hallway outside my office at the end of the fourth floor of the MacNaughton Building that houses the Department of Physics. From early in the morning until late at night, Kaitlin could be found sitting on the floor working away, always ready for a friendly chat where we discussed labwork, re-imagined undergraduate curricula, or discussed future careers. I will forever cherish all these chats, and I can say that they helped make me a better instructor and a better mentor for undergraduate students. While she was always intrigued by the idea of graduate school, Kaitlin decided she wanted to start her career by getting some ‘real world’ work experience, taking a software developer job in her hometown of Ottawa, Ontario.
