You don't have a magnetic phone: You don't need an iPhone to enjoy the magnetic charging, but you'll need a case that lines up your phone with Apple's MagSafe wireless configuration, or else your phone won't charge properly. In terms of charging, this massive power bank can charge an iPhone 15 more than five times. It can charge a big Galaxy S23 Ultra's 5,000mAh battery three-and-a-half times. Best of all, it charges at the fastest speed available on most of your favorite phones (excluding Oppo/OnePlus's unusual SUPERVOOC battery). Surge protection, short circuit prevention, and more advanced safety features keep you and your devices safe. Step up from the budget power banks to the mighty Juice Powerbank Max and you get a much more capable mobile charger, with a 20,000mAh capacity and a 20W USB PD output over USB-C. We measured the USB-A output at nearly 15W in our tests, which recharged our smartphone by 18% in 15 minutes. With USB-C, that output rose to just over 19W, which was good for a 22% recharge in 15 minutes. That’s not bad at all for an affordable power bank, and we also found it usable for charging tablets and even a Chromebook laptop, albeit at a slower-than-usual speed.

You only want to charge a phone: If you don't need to charge a laptop occasionally, or you only carry a phone with no accessories, the Anker 733 is more than you need. Power banks are not 100% efficient, and even though you start with plenty of power, a lot of it is lost in the charging process.

What is mAh capacity?

Do not use a 5W charger to charge your phone wirelessly and recharge PowerCore simultaneously. To charge simultaneously at full speed, it’s recommended to use a charger with at least an 18W output. To test charging times and claims, we charged a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and an Apple iPhone 15 to determine how many charges each battery offers these devices. We chose a common smaller battery phone as well as our best phone overall for this purpose. This wireless charger does not feature MagSafe-style magnetic alignment, and therefore is not able to charge the iPhone 12 series magnetically.

The next question is how you want to charge your device. You can find a power bank that charges your phone (or even your Apple Watch) wirelessly. These will usually charge slower, but they can be very convenient if you want to leave wires at home. This charger also fell a little short of its charging claims in our test. Anker states that you should be able to charge an iPhone 8 3.5 times and a Samsung Galaxy S8 2.5 times, but we were only able to charge an S8 about 2.2 times. It's also worth noting how the power bank itself is charged up. Some devices from Anker still support micro USB, while others use USB-C. At the moment, no Anker power banks can be charged up with a Lightning cable.

Capacity:Think of capacity as the energy reservoir of your power bank. The higher the mAh (milliampere-hour), the more power it can store. So, choose a power bank with a capacity that suits your charging needs and can juice up multiple devices. The best power banks we have tried have all come from Anker, but that doesn't mean Anker is the only brand you should consider. All of the power banks on this list passed our testing, traveling with us on the road and powering our devices at home. Anker is the best, but these batteries from Baseus and Otterbox performed well. Anything with 20,000mAh or above will charge your phone multiple times, and many can charge several devices at the same time. As such, they're usually larger, weightier and can be more expensive. The number in the title of the power bank usually refers to the capacity of it, so the PowerCore 20000 for example features a 20,000mAh battery. Features When you're after a power bank for a camping trip or weekend getaway, or to power your Switch or laptop, you'll want something with a higher capacity.When it comes to purchasing a power bank, there are a few important factors to consider. Let's dive into them: Tylt also wisely left enough of a gap between the battery and the bottle that you can coil a small USB-C cord (included) into that space. That way, even if you're not charging wirelessly, you're not adding a lot of extra bulk to your bag. It's a smart setup.
