Ubisoft's Imagine series is a set of Nintendo DS games aimed at helping young girls and tweens explore different career paths. In IMAGINE TEACHER, kids step into the shoes of teacher April as she takes over for a retiring teacher at the local elementary school. As the only teacher on staff, April is responsible for not only teaching all of the lessons and marking homework, but also cleaning the classroom after school (by rubbing and dragging the DS stylus to clean up dirt and straighten tables), and buying new school supplies. In this game, April takes her class on a field trip to Camp Montrose to compete in the Summer School Contest. Her six children will compete against children from three other schools to see who wins the Camp Cup at the end of it all. Among the competing teams is April's junior high rival, Peggy, who is determined to win the trophy for herself. Each game is distinct, and each one works well to represent the subject it's named for. Some of the games aren't quite so interactive and fun, though, like "Biology" (it just has you draw lines between animal pictures and animal names). But, on the whole, the mini-game selection forming the foundation for Imagine: Teacher is solid. Super Young gamers will find some of the games a little beyond them. Younger players not yet confident at reading will not be able to play a raft of activities that are word driven. When Keith was introduced, he was shown to be nervous and seemed excited to be enrolled in April's school. Once there...not so much. Big Damn Heroes: Gala is this in several points, springing out of nowhere to help April and her class finish the job or rescue them. This is because she's secretly observing the center. Imagine: Teacher wraps up its education credentials with some impressive proper game presentation. The selection screens and environments are all fully fleshed out - just as much as other purely fun focused titles. Whereas some other edu-games focus on a particular area of education, Imagine: Teachers provides activities in each part of the modern curriculum. This takes in not just the science subject (as in other games) but also the arts. So what experience should I play this game for... Frame-Up: The final arc of the game has the school be robbed and Ms. Sharpe accuses April of doing such.

|That opening game is simple and works well, which is good. But you'll play it so often that it may get to feeling too repetitive for you.

Intermediate players, particular those who are older, will probably find the game aesthetic a little beneath them. While fun for while as a curiosity it won't be long before they hand it onto younger siblings or offspring - particularly if they are caught playing it in public. With so many different perspectives it can be hard to know where to start - a little like walking into a crowded pub. Sorry about that.
