August and Everything After is the debut studio album by American rock band Counting Crows, initally released September 14, 1993 on Geffen Records. Thus Analogue Productions has reissued August and Everything After as a double LP set to maximize the dynamic range of this recording. A real listening pleasure and great to hear after so many other disappointing re-presses by other artists.We’ve taken this classic and given it the full Analogue Productions reissue treatment, featuring a remaster by Germany’s Willem Makkee from the original analog tapes, and plating and 180-gram pressing by Quality Record Pressings. In this release, his third album for Reference Recordings, Doug MacLeod continues to explore the breadth and depth of the human condition.

We might be accustomed to the CD sound of the album as it was mastered as such, but thank God to Chad’s persistence of seeking out the releases with analog session tapes; what we have here is a new true analog jewel recording being pressed. Written on a remote farm in the United Kingdom’s countryside in 2019, the four-track, 18-minute suite was artfully composed so that each track flows without interruption from one song to the next. It was captured on January 14, 1961, at Hibiya Public Hall in Tokyo during the band’s first-ever tour of Japan.
