An interesting thing that I learned in this story was that sometimes its okay to give up, especially when your surrounded by a vicious horde of werewolves.

Suddenly, Leopold shifts into the Lion and throws the soldiers off him. Drew unleashed the Wolf and engages Leopold in a fierce battle. Despite being stronger, Drew starts to lose when Duke Bergan, Duke Manfred and Count Vega intervene, the former two in their beast forms. They gave Leopold a choice to leave or die. Heinous Hyena: Lady Hayfa the Werehyena, who has fought against King Faisal for control of Omir for years. The story-telling is brilliant! It is a third-person point of view but following Drew. Not only will you be hooked from the beginning, but you will let yourself guide through the story by Drew's voice. I always have the nasty habit of guessing the end of a book before it happens and even though I knew where the story was going, I kept being surprised at all the characters coming up along the story and the different plot points. It has been one wonderful ride and I won't be forgetting this adventure anytime soon. To tell you the truth, I read this book three weeks ago and have read a dozen in-between and all I can think about are werecreatures. I have a love for shape-shifters in general, but I have really fallen for this story. Upon his absence, Leopold came forward and took over the relatively undefended country (defeating the lingering Duke Bergan in the process), kidnapping Wergar's family and telling Bergan that they would only be safe if Wergar were to surrender the throne and go into exile. Bergan relays the message to the weary Wergar upon his return, his pleas bolstered by others (Baron Huth, being a scholar as well as a magister, also exploited his superstitious nature). Fragile Speedster: Fitting for a cheetah, Lord Chollo is old and fragile-looking, but incredibly fast and agile, capable of taking down another werelord with ease if given the chance.Outliving One's Offspring: Duke Manfred outlives his youngest son Milo, while Duke Brand losses his son Dorn. Even worse, Duke Bergan outlives both his children. And, while story might sound and feel a bit cliched, which leads to some predictable moments, there were still some stuff that were just OMFGWHATJUSTHAPPENED style and i loved it because it was just....dunno..interesting (i loved it anyway).
