I am a plastic miniatures and sprues type of guy. That is what I like. That is what I want to share with you, my reader. As such, I really like to show off the sprues that come in a box and some of the built miniatures. All of the models in the Recruit Edition are “Easy To Build” models, meaning they don’t require glue to assemble (but they’ll have fewer gaps if you cut all the little pegs and glue them anyway) – just like the Second Edition Age of Sigmar starter sets. Each warrior is armed with a long gause flayer rifle, and posed as though advancing in an unpreventable way towards the enemy. Each model shows various levels of battle damage and degradation, adding some life and character into the miniatures as well as letting you come up with your own story as you paint them. The gaming mat shown on the preview photos is not the exact one you get in the box. The one in the set has starter zones marked on it, just like the First Strike Playing Mat in the Ed8 First Strike Starter Set. I assume my review of that gaming mat is also true to this one. Primarily Warhammer is a wargame played with model miniatures that players painstakingly design and paint to their liking and to fit within their army's theme. There is a mixture of humans, aliens, and other supernatural races to choose from, all with their own attributes and designs, and some even have internal factions which vary wildly from other factions of the same race.There are Start Collecting! boxes for most of the game’s factions, each containing a mix of models that forms a great core for an army. Whether you want to harness the martial might and powerful battle tanks of the Astra Militarum, haunt the battlefield with Aeldari Ghost Warriors, or summon hordes of Daemons to the table, these are your starting points. I want to state that I have seen some some starter sets before where the two armies are intermixed on the sprues. I find this annoying. In this Recruit Edition box, the sprues come as the separate sides – Necrons and Space Marines. Here’s the lowdown. Recruit Edition The kit includes 27 miniatures in total, all push-fit models, so assembly should be fairly simple and straightforward once they have been removed from the sprue. You'll have access to 9 Space Marine models in total, including 3 Outriders, and a Primaris Captain to lead your forces into battle, for the Tyranids there will be 18 miniatures in total. Making this a great place to start for either a Space Marine army or a Tyranid army, or just building a Warhammer collection in general. The Necron Warriors look battleworn and weathered, as if they’ve been buried in a swamp for centuries, and the Primaris Lieutenant is gloriously over the top with a giant sword and shield on one side and a arm stretched out holding a volkite pistol on the other.
