The use of dark wood in interior design is a popular choice due to its elegance, warmth, and versatility. Durable, strong, resistant to decay and insect damage, high oil content protects against moisture, unique color, and grain patterns, easy to work with and finish. Bear in mind, too, that almost any light-coloured timber species (like Cedar, Ash or Oak) can be stained to look darker with several coats of stain or paint, in accordance with the product manufacturer’s instructions. Make sure to test your stain on a small part first, of course.
