DVSC's Dementia Aware Community Led Programme was enabled through Welsh Government funding to support local delivery of the Dementia Action Plan. It was set up in 2019 to support communities to generate and transfer awareness around dementia into community led action. Okay, eventually the MC did realize she must take matter into her own hands and killed the stalker before he could kill her new boyfriend, but all these had come too little, too late for me. But here's where the story goes south for me. I wanted to feel the "tension" more. I had the deep desire to know more about the inner workings of Rafe. There was just hit and miss dialog from him. Perhaps we should have had the story divided more into components of the inner mindset of Rafe. Without that, it was just hand-me-down evil instead of going for the juglar. Margaret remembers that keeping Sabbath on a Sunday was a strict procedure. This was a time when Margaret and her sister would sit and sew clothes for their rag dolls, or learn passages from the Holy Bible. They were not allowed to play games or cards on a Sunday. Speech was to be guarded and their mother reminded them "it was as bad to think not so good things as it was to say them". Children being children, there was an incident where the girls had broken the glass on the paraffin lamp and were fearful to tell their mother. Lost in Art started as a pilot project in partnership with Engage Cymru and Denbighshire Social Services in 2010 at venues in Rhyl and Ruthin. From this early pilot, the project has been running at Ruthin Craft Centre since 2011, using the changing gallery exhibitions as inspiration for hands-on making and creating in the Education Studio at the centre. Alzheimer's Society required a steering group to be set up within a town that wishes to work towards becoming dementia friendly. It can be useful for towns who wish to do more for dementia in their community, but it sounds complicated. How do towns start one? We will use Denbigh as an example here who have been recognised by Alzheimer's Society as working towards becoming Dementia Friendly. And provide you with the tools you need to test this out with someone who knows and cares about you. You can begin to get the benefits of coaching without having to pay for one. This is a five star read despite the fact that I felt a little disengaged at the end, not strongly enough to be disappointed but after such a good beginning the ending felt a little contrived. Despite this I would recommend this to everyone (except stalkers) who enjoy a good read with a storyline that makes you question how you would react, what is the right response if someone won’t leave you alone?

This is definitely one of the worst things I've ever read. Probably the worst one. My problem isn't the subject matter, which is universally appalling. It's just about everything else. I disliked the narrative style. I disliked the main character - the victim. She was impossibly hard to like, in fact, I never managed to connect with her, let alone care about her, or about what is happening to her. That at least should've been easy, but it wasn't, because, well, the annoying narrative style, as well as Clarissa's voice, which kept distracting me, with a bounty of unneeded nonsense and silly ramblings, created an emotional boundary of sorts. And it isn't because she's slow seeking help, or secretive about her situation, or because she's presented a weak, wimpy or possibly timid clothes-knitting mouse, it's because of all the stupidities, and her incessant focus on jerks. It's this annoying stream of silliness, as she reflects on pretty much every little detail of, well, everything. And l don't mean her being frightened, that seems perfectly reasonable. Margaret's father died when the children were still young. Their mother was given a Ten Shilling Pension (equivalent to 50p today). This was for rent, food, clothes and any other occurring expenditure. Therefore, much gratitude was felt for hand-me-down clothes. Mothers in this situation often went to work as cleaners, starting at dawn and arriving home before the children got up for school, as did Margaret's mother, as an extra source of income. Previously, a dementia friendly concert was held as part of the North Wales International Music Festival at the Cathedral. This was a success and it will take place this year too, along with a workshop. Also at the Cathedral, they set up a table at All Things Dementia, which is run by the diocese in the cathedral (see photo).
