The rules slightly change depending on the number of players, and I like how it adapts to the number of participants.Though the gameplay may not be varied and chaotic enough for a bunch of adults to play, Agatha Christie’s Death on the Cards would be perfect if you need to entertain a kid for half an hour or so. With just 2 players, you know who the murderer is from the get-go so it’s just a straightforward but frenetic game of cat and mouse. The detective cards are used to uncover players' secrets and thus discovering the killer's identity. Remember “If you are to be Hercule Poirot, you must think of everything” No clue is too small to be overlooked by your keen detective’s mind. And because you need to collar them before the game's deck of cards has run out, you'll use beloved sleuths like Poirot and Miss Marple to make that happen.

As the ‘Murderer’ your aim is to either use up the play deck until the ‘The Murder Escapes’ card is revealed, or get everybody else to reveal all their ‘Secret’ cards. That includes events which let you point your suspicions, swap cards, or slow down the killer's escape by reusing cards from the discard pile.Everything needed to play Death on the Cards fits neatly into a 4×6 inch box, making it easy to travel with. The basic premise is the same however many players you have – the murderer must exhaust the draw pile to reveal the ‘Murderer Escapes’ card which depicts them gleefully skipping off into the distance with nary a care in the world.
