A game focused on wide-scale environmental destruction, Blast Corps puts players in control of a pilot of the titular "Blast Corps": a group of heavy-duty demolition experts with unique talents and a variety of cutting-edge technology (including the use of heavy-duty vehicles and humanoid mechs). The game's story involves a global crisis, as the group must escort a runaway missile carrier (carrying leaking nuclear missiles) to a "ground zero" for a controlled detonation.

Gameplay

Finishing Bonus Levels will result in a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal, depending on the finish time. Much like Cromlech Court, this level is pretty much just another free one. The level is Argent Towers again, just without the extra stuff and with the relatively easy Cyclone Suit. To prevent this, the government hires the demolition company known as Blast Corps - founded by several former military soldiers who were stationed in the base the missiles came from, until an accident involving one of their members led the others to desert their post. Using a variety of different machines to assist them, Blast Corps assigns a new recruit to help clear the carrier's path, ensuring it can get past areas safely, while at the same time seeking out a group of missing scientists needed to conduct the safe detonation of the missiles. Dealing with an array of difficult situations, Blast Corps manages to prevent catastrophe, finding the scientists and putting an end to the threat from the missiles. Drive across the bridge and over the hill. Boost your way to J-Bomb; hop on in and destroy the three high-rises in the center to clear the path. You can also fly on top of the cliff to the west and find a square that you can fall through. Follow the path to find the red car and a plethora of RDU’s.

If you’re a completionist, this game may frustrate you. Hidden under the meat of the main game, there are a lot of collect-a-thon objectives. The optional objectives include: destroying all of the buildings, activating all of the RDU’s, and rescuing all of the trapped hostages. There are a lot of hidden areas lying in the middle of empty fields, but since the camera doesn’t like to show anything useful, they’re easy to miss. To add to this, there are a number of optional side missions that are never quite as fun as the main story missions. Of course, the key word here is optional, so there’s no use getting upset about features that you can just pass on. Make sure to get running and rolling space for clearing the carrier’s way. To do this, you’re provided with a large number of demolition vehicles which range from straightforward (like a bulldozer) to bizarre (like a car that destroys buildings by ramping into them). Most of the vehicles are very unique and require a different strategy to get the most out of them. Some of them are very easy to use, while others require a lot of practice. Beacon: Follow the road going down to the right and you will find a barn next to it. The beacon is inside of it. RADAR POINTS: One is on a ledge of the cliff to the northeast. The second is on a small island in the bay to the very south.
