Again, it was comparable in sharpness and chromatic control to my APM 100mm APO ED binos at this low power (and I was free from those irritating off-axis reflections we know about with the APM BT's when sweeping). My only complaint is that the eye cups are quite wide so for me they sre pressed hard against my nose when using them. A shorter close focus distance allows birdwatchers to observe small details on nearby birds, and is especially important for insect observation. With the one I had on loan, I viewed stars a few times, and the images remained pinpoint with the stabilizer on, meaning that the stabilizer did not begin to wander off axis on its own, and there was no need to disengage/engage the IS to keep the image optimum.
