We like how solid this electric bike feels in terms of build quality. This is a relief after seeing it in pictures, as you could easily mistake it for a toy rather than a serious option for an electric bike. The DYU D3F’s ease of use starts when it arrives. Due to its small size, DYU doesn’t have to break it down into a thousand pieces to ship. The result is a fast assembly that should have you riding in no less than 10 minutes, as long as your battery is charged. If you value practicality and convenience, the DYU D3F Smart E-bike will steal your heart right off the bat. Sculpted for everyday commuters and intrepid explorers, this electric wonder-on-wheels features a lightweight aluminium alloy frame, easing its portability. But that’s not what gives it its X-factor.

After a couple of rides, you’ll learn how to get the best out of the D3F and begin to enjoy its agile handling and tight turning circle. Normally in this section we’ve got a big chart comparing how the braking power of the e-bike being reviewed compares to the braking power of all the other e-bikes we’ve reviewed.The motor has 250W and is mounted in the rear wheel hub. It has a top speed of 15.5mph. This may not seem that punchy, but it’s as fast as you want to go on an electric bike like this.

At a third of a mile long and a 12 percent gradient on average, Hell Hole is steep enough and long enough to stress even the most powerful e-bikes we review, let alone a lightly-powered minibike. But we did try. In this DYU D3F Folding E-Bike Review, I would be remiss not to mention that while excellent for smooth road commuting or leisurely jaunts, it’s no off-roading beast. Small wheels and a compact frame do not a mountain bike make. You may feel more shake, rattle and roll than you’d like on uneven terrain. The D3F is a compact, lightweight electric bike with tiny wheels. It is different from other electric bikes on the market due to its eye-catching looks and incredible compactness. When it came to the range test, I was impressed with this little bike! Despite the fact that the battery cannot be removed, it is large. A 10Ah battery, operating a small 250W motor, could be considered oversized for this small bike. It was able to power the unit for over 22 miles using mainly throttle. Now, this route included only mellow grades, but the bike made it up them with some additional pedal power. The range test was slow, taking over two hours to reach the 22-mile maximum. But even so, the ability to throttle yourself for over 20 miles on this little bike, really made it seem like a capable mini commuter. So the bike earns some serious points with its maximum battery range. Compact Configuration: The DYU D3F Smart Ebike’s teeny appearance doesn’t just add to its mobility; it also allows it to squeeze into the tightest of spots. It’s an absolute boon in bustling metropolises and when space is at a premium in your apartment or office.Nothing is more exhilarating than embracing the symbiotic dance of man and machine, especially when the machine is as sleek, foldable, and convenient as the DYU D3F Smart E-Bike. This electrically assisted bicycle is not just a ride but a faithful companion, ready to accompany you on your daily commutes or recreational weekend rides across the undulating suburbia. The motor isn’t the best for hill climbing but on a flat surface it has no problem cruising at 12-13 mph. It’s super easy to mount and dismount, so if you have mobility issues or wear long clothing, this could be the electric bike for you. You’ll also be impressed with the saddle comfort, which is a surprise considering the bike’s compactness.

Another consideration is the bike’s small size, which may not be the most comfortable for adults on longer rides. The compact design of the DYU D3F, while advantageous for portability, may limit the ergonomic comfort that riders seek during extended journeys. However, for shorter commutes and leisure rides, the size should not pose a significant problem. We like the look and design of the DYU D3F, as it offers something different and fun from traditional electric bikes. Although, you’ll need to get used to turning heads as you ride. The simplicity and well-thought-out design of the D3F make it easy to live with. But you need to be realistic about its capabilities. This bike will not take you over rugged terrain and cross country; it’s for nipping about and making short journeys without your car. With a scrunched-up pedaling position and a very modest 240W motor, we had little hope that the DYU D3F would stand a chance against our test hill Hell Hole.When it comes to efficient urban mobility, the DYU D3F Folding E-Bike yields to none. The harmonious fusion of its lightweight aluminium frame and compact dimensions attests to a design ethos that centers on user convenience. This e-bike is more than capable of weaving through bustling city streets, as well as unveiling suburban secrets over the weekend. Aside from the crunched pedaling position, the 38x12t gear ratio is pretty spinny by the time you reach about 12 mph. It’s nice for climbing, but I think you’re going to find throttling a bit more comfortable on flat ground. The compactness makes the DYU D3F quite wobbly. This is why we said the top speed of 15.5 mph is fast enough. However, the small wheels give this bike low gearing, making climbing small hills surprisingly spritely. Still, you may want to avoid cobbles and potholes, as they will feel much larger than they would on an electric bike with larger wheels. It’s refreshing to see that DYU has fitted the D3F with mechanical disc brakes. Hydraulic disc brakes would be overkill on a bike like this, but these mechanical items provide plenty of stopping power and are much safer than rim brakes, especially in wet weather.
