Accessory wise you get a semi-hard clamshell case with Moondrop on it, along with a good selection of tips (6 pairs in total). Something that was also included in mine was a pair of tweezers and 3 pairs of mesh wax guards, something that no doubt will be of use in the future. To say that Moondrop has had a meteoric rise over the past two years would be quite an understatement. Moondrop has always been applauded for their artistic devotion through their products. In this case, Aria isn’t any different.

Well, both IEMs are good at delivering a taste of rawness to their midrange tone. However, the Starfield has a little more vibrant tonality than the Aria. Arguably the IEM that put Moondrop on the audiophile map, the Kanas Pro was the bassier of the two Kanas models and first of the “over-ear metal-build dynamic-driver” series of Moondrop IEMs.These sound great, the pros pretty much describe how I enjoy them with music. But they are also very good for gaming, they sound very clean and work very well with spatial audio HRTF. This is where these shine like they do in terms of paint job, the mid range is tuned so well it actually covers up all the shortcomings one would feel with the bass. Starfields sounds so wide, natural and multi layered that with eyes closed you will be taken to the recording studio the moment you press the play button, the kind of imaging that is produced is speechless, upon close listening a trained ear can pin point the exact location of various instruments used in the song which is very rare in this price point. Lower mid presence is on point which is why these do not sound muddy, and the transition from lower to higher mid range is perfectly balanceddue to which it produces clean male and female vocals that are smooth and have weight to it. Because it’s clearly not gonna be worth it if Starfield and Aria are identical but you’re investing more in one than the other for nothing new. Moreover, its accuracy is sharper than the Starfield, however, still simply as soft and sensitive to understand. All in all, while it’s hard to justify paying 3 times the price to get a more balanced, refined and articulated sound, the musicality improvement with Starfield is evident and free of all BLON imperfection.

In this case, a replacement wire that’s both strong and significantly improves the sound quality would be great. With Moondrop’s sky-high popularity in 2021, it’s getting very overwhelming for audiophiles to decide on their best iems.In fact, the ‘drivability’ of these two has awed us even when we were determining how good KZ iems are. The Kanas Pro is also the warmest of the three, most probably due to the extra bass combined with lower presence past 5kHz. Whether this is also the root cause of the lower perceived resolution is not for me to say, but there may be a relation here. Aria produces fairly heavy and zesty bass. With the dimensional presence of frequencies, transients take place rapidly and are nicely leveled. Aria showed up with this dowdy dark carapace with gold streaks. On the other hand, Starfield got a sparkling texture with a blue pigmentation that explodes. However, when it comes to Starfield, the solo dynamic driver’s coil renders this system to adjust inflexibility.

However, unlike the Starfield, it seems like you won’t be complaining about paint chipping in Aria. Because Aria and Starfield resemble each other to the point where it’ll be difficult for you to find any difference.
