Once you have the fan secured, simply start using your compressed air on the fan. For a better result, you can ask a friend or anyone around your household to vacuum the dust that will come out of the fan as soon as it leaves your console. This’ll ensure that you won’t leave a dusty table or floor behind. PS5 cleaning instructions from Sony are the same for both the Standard and Digital Edition of the console. For cleaning the plastic covers of the PS5 and the DualSense Wireless Controller use a soft, dry cloth. For any ports on the console that have accumulated any dirt or dust, use a dry cloth to wipe away the buildup. Place the PS5 on a clean table. Do not place it on a carpet or rug with long fibers, as per Sony’s recommendation.Now, if your base is placed in the horizontal direction, you only need to remove it. Simply put the console on its face, with the charging port facing upwards. Then, lift the base up to remove it. Remove the PS5’s Plate The first thing you'll need to do is remove the faceplate from the console. You should be able to do that by pulling it away from the top of the console –you don't need to use a lot of strength here, it should just pop off nice and easily. Once you've done that, remove the stand and the faceplate from the bottom. Put them somewhere safe. If you have a catastrophic accident, a simple cleaning may not be enough, and you might have to take your console out for repair because the hardware inside could be damaged as well as dirty. That's a good question, and depending on who you ask the answers vary from "monthly" to "never". It really depends on where your PS5 is, so for example if you're in a room with lots of long fibres in carpeting, rugs and so on, or if it's a smoking household, or if you have pets, or if you're really lazy and don't do the normal hoovering and dusting very often, then you're going to want to clean your console more frequently than if you live in a Zen-like space with no furniture and Italian marble floors.If you decide to use anything similar to a tweezer to hold your fan in place, be extra careful not to drop it inside. It doesn’t matter if you have the digital or the standard version of PS5, you’ll need a can of compressed air, an adjustable vacuum, and a microfiber cloth. Once you’ve located any dust deposits, use compressed air to remove these or a low-powered vacuum. If this doesn’t work, try using a microfiber cloth dipped in isopropyl alcohol and wipe gently – only use as little as you need.

Once you have everything you need ready to go, lay down your console sideways and unplug your console. Doing so will allow you to have a better grip on the console. Your cleaning kit consists of a micro-fiber cloth and a soft toothbrush. Optional, you can get canned air or a low-powered vacuum. Lastly, it would help if you had isopropyl alcohol. The next step is taking out the PS5 plates. You require no tools, but if it becomes difficult, you may use a plastic pry or a spudger.Now it's time for some digital dusting. It's time to get inside the machine and give the heatsink a good clean, and this will solve your overheating problem. Thankfully, Sony designed the PS5 in such a way that cleaning the console is surprisingly easy. You can remove the console’s external faceplates or covers without needing to reach for a toolkit, and the design generally does a good job of preventing excessive amounts of dust from settling inside the console.

If there are some dust deposits that just won't shift, you can use isopropyl alcohol with either a lint-free cloth or a cotton bud to wipe it clean. Normal maintenance doesn't require disassembly, especially if you clean the PS5 occasionally and follow some common-sense rules.
