I have tried to remember to press the seam allowance to one side. But this bulky seam fabric makes quilting extremely difficult, and painful if you are hand quilting. And a lot of long arm sewing machine quilters find that bulky seam causes irregular quilting stitches. So, I continue to press my seams open. I have a button on the sewing machine – I press it and I have the laser – you can see the red line on top of the fabric. This line always stays in front of the needle while you are sewing and shows where you have to stitch. The light is bright enough that you can see it on any fabric. Is perfect piecing your thing?
