So many times have I see someone try and wax polish their brand new shoes with neutral wax and remove the finish and then blame the shoemaker. With an inbuilt dual-layer sponge, the application is so easy that you can even polish your shoes with just one hand! For example, a brown polish can be used on both dark and light shoes, while a white polish is best suited for light-colored shoes. There are lots of styles of shoes that you may not have considered wearing around the house but which can, in fact, be better for your feet if you have plantar fasciitis, wide feet or flat arches that could do with some additional support. Color isn’t as much of a concern as much as getting a good base cost that I can build on to get a high gloss shine.However, although it contains natural ingredients, there are also synthetic ingredients in the formula so if you wanted something all-natural, it might be best to skip this item on the list but the convenience is hard to ignore! This is especially useful if you think your shoes are looking particularly dull or you have some scuffs you need to cover up. While a number of older leather preserving products existed, including the Irish brand "Punch", which was first made in 1851, and the German brand, "Erdal", which went on sale in 1901, Kiwi's introduction in 1906 made it the first shoe polish to resemble modern varieties, aimed primarily at inducing shine. Angelus is a long-standing company that was established in 1907 and to this day, they still use the same original formula for their shoe polish.

For most shoe polish applications, waiting about 10 minutes should be enough before you start buffing the polish. My only attempt at brown shoes – on a pair of Bally split toe (Norwegian toe) shoes turned out quite nice – and those shoes are, in my estimation, of average quality – below the Alden and Allen Edmonds (and certainly not fully welted).
