Yes, The Shape had a major battle with her in Halloween(2018), but it was manufactured by Dr Sartain. This book caught my eye because it has already proven itself as a classic horror film, it was a typical slasher full of fun but predictable as expected. The reasoning behind this compulsion eluded him, obscured by the murk of his fragmented psyche, yet his purpose remained unwavering. Like the movie, the action is remarkably confusing and contrived; the novel tries its level best to contextualize and to expand on the movie, but it's not enough to make the story interesting. As the stakes heighten and the body count rises, the boundaries between reality and nightmare will blur, leading to a shocking climax that will leave readers breathless.

There are definite story issues, and the whole psychiatrist character could have been left on the cutting room floor, and the movie would have been better for it. After reading this book if this was the version that was made into the movie I would watch it repeatedly for my entire life. They looked like Judy and Danny, madly in love with each other, dancing in a circle around a huge bonfire while he, Michael, stood in the crowd hating them, burning up with jealousy". I actually think this is quite an interesting companion piece to the movie that really expands on the idea that this town is utterly infected by Michael's "evil.
