It introduces a detective by the name of Daniel Hawthorne - a rather dark and dangerous man whom I actually met on the set of Injustice.

With no leads, no one to go to, and being framed for murder, the brothers encounter Tim's former boss, Police Chief Snape and his aggressive partner Boyle, a lounge singer named Lauren Bacardi, an underworld crime boss known only as 'The Fat Man', and two German hitmen named Gott and Himmel.The story also ends with Lauren Bacardi, Nick's sidekick through most of the second half, having absconded with the diamonds by the time he gets to them, having withhold how much she knew about their location from him. This book is about how a guy named Johnny Naples who barges into the detectives office while looking like he's being followed. The noir trope is just a little overdone and there are just too many convenient situations to advance the plot with the characters just lucking into their next clue. In The Diamond Brothers in… Public Enemy Number Two (1987), Nick Diamond is once again thrust into danger by being framed for a jewel heist he didn't commit, so that he'll be forced to go undercover as a jewel thief to find out the true identity of an unknown master criminal known only as "the Fence".

This short story was adapted and enlarged from a radio play of the same name that Horowitz wrote several years prior. The Falcon that Naples mentioned with his dying breath is the alias of the late Henry von Falkenberg, an English-German international criminal who had been living in La Paz, Bolivia, when the police last heard of him. I would recommend this book to anyone over the age of 10 because it is a very interesting plot, which is reasonably easy to understand, including some very dramatic and adventurous twists and turns. Could not believe my own eyes while reading this book, I really liked how they completely changed up the situation and made it a lot more interesting! The genre is Action and the book is about how a guy that changed his name to Tim diamond and also opened his own agency but he is the worst detective of all time.

In a school setting I think this book would be terrific for any child from year 4 onwards, and I can see why Mr Horowitz has become such a big name in getting reluctant readers to pick up a book, as I would heartily recommend it to any pupil who thinks the written word can’t be as exciting as a videogame or film. I was left holding a diamond the diamond size of a peanut" My favorite part of this book is when the police come to rescue Nick.
