I thought not, but the listing is for a VW Transporter. I know VW parts are similar to Skoda, but the listing didn't state Skoda Fabia mk1. If you just want a no-nonsense mountain bike at an attractive price point, the Canyon Neuron AL 6 is a very good answer. wobbliscott- no reason it has to bolt into the chassis though, a tab out of the chassis/floor with a hole through it could accomodate a bolt and wouldn’t be any more invoved to fit than a stud (or in the case of ford, a manky selftapper thing). I looked up myself before posting a few listings and they too came up with VW transporter, Golf fitment. But, didn't fit a Fabia for whatever reason. The info about the tabs is useful. There are 3 rusty 'bits' which I could not identify which I now know are the remains of the tabs.

Someone said to me that the rear end of the heat shield isn't really necessary and can safely be removed. Is that the case?

How do the clips come off? They are a different type of part than the one used on the under bonnet sound proofing, so just buy some, but, be aware that in most cases, the original retainers will still be on the car but rusted up, and the reason that you are finding that the heat shield has fallen down is because it is made of some aluminium alloy kind of material, and these retainers are zinc'd steel - so that has started a reaction that has locally trashed the aluminium alloy material - and it has "gone" and the heat shield now has a big hole in it where originally it had a small hole for the retainer's stud to pass through. So that means that you will need to make up some thin metal disc patches/repair washers to cover these holes when you go to fit new retainers. sorry to be bringing up an old thread, but I think my heat shield is rattling. I thought at first it was my a/c compressor since the rattle comes & goes and I thought that the heat from the a/c compressor was causing the rattle. Use a bit of ally sheet instead of a repair washer, the galvanic corrosion will take many car lifetimes to eat through 1mm of aluminium compared to the wafer thin heatshield. Make a couple of big square washers from a bean tin, folded a couple of times and a small hole made with a nail. This then grips the stud. Anyone replaced their heat shield clips recently?
