Another fabulous five stars for a compelling, well written and suspenseful book that I highly recommend to mystery crime readers young and old! I was privileged to listen to the audio version recording, and unequivocally, I highly recommend the audiobook. I fell in love with the narrator Shakira Shute! Extremely talented in her expressions and character voices - completely believable! She definitely has a part in making this good book, great! I would listen to any book she chose to narrate. The narrator, Shakira Shute, has a soft voice, however she fits the character she is narrating especially for Benjamin. She did sound sinister with a patronizing tone that perfectly fits Benjamin's character. I didn't mind that there's only one narrator. She changes her voice very well that I can distinguish one character from the other. Brought the book to life especially the exchanges between Ellie and Benjamin. She also did a good job with the Australian accent for both Ash and Pete. As Lana struggles to adjust to her new life in Paradise, she becomes convinced that her new neighbours are hiding something from her, something connected with the deaths of the family who lived in her house before she did, something that could put her own life in danger...

I did see all the twists coming though. It wasn't that I wasn't surprised by them, I literally had them figured out almost from the first quarter of the book. I really thought the author wanted us to think it was what I guessed and then I'd be hit with a big plot twist. But nope, totally predictable. A new home in the English Countryside, sounds like a dream. But sometimes dreams turn into nightmares. Um caldo hostil onde, por incrível que pareça, bóia o amor, apreensivo, ansioso, titubeante, interrogando-se a cada instante: "será que estarei bem aqui?!"... The buildup is a little slow at first, but the atmosphere is very edgy and I admit I fell into the author’s clever trap, playing along with what appeared to be the usual child kidnap case, with the parents being suspected and all those delicious skeletons falling out of the closet. But, I never could have guessed how it would all play out.This book is dealing with a crucial topic- Bullying. We can see what bullying does to the psyche of a person through Anne. The author tells us about the dangers of bullying. As Lana struggles to adjust to her new life in paradise, she begins to believe that these events are somehow connected. I don't regret reading this book nor did I dislike it, but I felt that there was a lot missing. There were still a lot of unanswered questions; something which I find to be one of the most frustrating weaknesses in writing, especially when the story is so promising. You've never had to call the police before. But now they're in your home, and who knows what they'll find there.

On top of that, lately it seems that something has been off with her husband. She's not sure if it's her imagination or something else. Is he keeping something from her?
