This book is called "My sister is a vampire" and it's written by Sienna Mercer. Sienna Mercer is Canadian. She writes book for children. This book is fiction but could be realistic fiction. The story could also be mystery because it's a sequel so every end of the books are mysterious so it makes you want to read the rest of the books. The secret is out--cheerleader Olivia and vampire Ivy are twins! Now that Ivy and Olivia have told their friends that they're twins, they have to come clean to their adoptive parents. But Ivy's dad doesn't even want to meet Olivia! When the vampire officials realize Olivia knows the truth about vampires, they demand that she pass three tests to prove she's worthy of sharing the secret. Yikes! One thing's for sure--if the sisters can get through this, they can get through anything! Of course, when it comes to the mysterious question about the life of a vampire (as well as whether or not it’s supposedly “false” and “empty” as Lady Veronica puts it), no two answers are the same; they’re as different as two snowflakes (meaning the well-known snowflake analogy, to be precise). Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them.

I think my daughter feels a special connection to the series because she is adopted and hopes one day to meet her own sister. I am enjoying the humor and appreciate that the message of tolerance for differences for an age group that needs the message badly. Twin girls separated at the age of one year old find one another at school. One is a Goth/Vampire; the other is a Pink/Bunny cheerleader ("Bunny" being what the vampires in these stories call non-vampires.) Despite their extreme differences in self-expression, they feel an immediate love and appreciation for one another, even before they realize they are twin sisters.There isn’t exactly a ton of character development—the trouble-making characters will pretty much always make trouble—and some of the plots are rather predictable, but at the core is a message of acceptance, both of yourself and of the people you love. Secrets are central in many ways, but they don’t keep secrets from each other or from their parents for very long. Even when they’re nervous about telling the truth, it’s never as bad as they fear. I’ve mentioned my issues with secrets elsewhere, and these books feel like an antidote to that in some ways. The story is told in third person. The plot is about Olivia filming who in London with her ex boyfriend and Ivy becomes popular at high school. The intended audience is for young-teen and the genre is fiction because vampires aren’t real. The author kept me interested because it is easy to read and there aren’t that many hard words. The author’s style is contemporary so that young teen can relate to the characters in the story.

But it was entertaining and I didn't want to rip the book to shreds, so that's pretty good in my opinion. Rags to Riches: Date With Destiny has Transylvania maid Tessa marry Prince Alex; the entire novel is based on her wedding. Bear in mind that before, she was a Shrinking Violet in Love Bites. Olivia and Ivy also count.

Unfortunately, to add more confusion, the 13th book was re-named the same title as the 18th. Like any good twin book, Ivy and Olivia routinely switch places. They never get caught and there are rarely negative consequences. Secrets are a main theme, and the big one (the existence of vampires) is one that must be kept—even from Olivia’s parents and best friends—for many reasons. But most of the more normal secrets are kept for a blessedly short period of time, and there are few, if any, negative consequences to telling the truth and coming clean with your family and friends. It was cute; two long lost twins meet each other after 12 years of separation, and turns out, one of them is a vampire, while the other is a "bunny". Because they're twins, they're able to switch places when one or both of them needs help in something, and they become closer in the process. The series follows a pair of long-lost twin sisters named Olivia Abbott and Ivy Vega (they were separated as babies and adopted into different families when they were a year old). It’s time to go undercover!Ivy has a lot of struggles in this book specifically on being popular and having "fans" and dealing with them in a way where she doesn't lose herself. A lot of these struggles comes to play with her character and who she is now as she is older and is in a new environment. I felt the same way as she did with all of the hardships she has encountered in different situations in my life that don't particularly focus with popularity and high school. And I think I have the same views and emotions as Ivy in dealing with it all. This touches me because having to have a connection with a character makes me feel like I'm not alone. Despite that Olivia is a cheerleader in love with pink, and Ivy is a pale goth fanatic, they both become best friends.

But Olivia soon discovers that she and Ivy aren't exactly the same. Ivy's a vampire. And she's not the only one in town. The kids break down into groups, as you tend to do, but there’s a lot of overlap. Olivia is a cheerleader and simply being a cheerleader is never looked down on. The main female antagonist is also a cheerleader and she’s a fairly typical mean girl, but Olivia helps mitigate the idea that all cheerleaders and popular girls are awful. Ivy is a goth, and overall the book portrays this group sympathetically. But our main male antagonists come from this group. They’re also fairly stereotypical idiotic trouble makers, but it’s interesting that Ivy has to look out for them to some extent because they’re part of her group. Olivia’s best friend is a geek, but she’s completely welcomed into the group of friends and her unique points of view are often useful and validated. Olivia’s boyfriend is a movie star (don’t ask), but underneath it all he’s a pretty normal kid (I guess that’s its own stereotype, but it still fits into the “don’t judge a book by its cover” mentality of the series.).
