Description

Chopped the JST plug off and replaced it with a servo plug. It can then be plugged into the programming port on the ESC which puts out 6v which is plenty to power the lights. It worked a treat and a relatively tidy install too. INNOVATION- TRX-4M captures all the functionality of a full-size TRX-4 in a smaller 1/18 size for an all-new driving experience. The TRX-4 Scale and Trail Crawler is equipped right out of the box with Traxxas game-changing portal axle set. Took it down to a spot near Shoreham Harbour I've not been to before but saw it recommended on a local facebook crawler group and looked pretty decent. It's only 10 minutes drive from my house too so couldn't not give it a look! A mate of mine came along and I gave him my Honcho to run, also meant I could compare how the two rigs perform on the same terrain.

Multiple Driving Modes – By holding in the Power Button for a certain amount of time (reflected by light flashes), you can tune the TRX-4 into 1 of the 5 driving modes: from full power, to beginner, to crawler mode with hill brake.So after all my hard work I'm going to sell the bronco body with the links, fenders etc. I've got a rather nice Defender body and LWB conversion kit on the way which should turn up tomorrow. I know it won't perform as well but to my eyes they look so much better and it just gives me an excuse to buy more shiny parts ? We swapped cars and the Honcho instantly feels invincible and manages the diagonal climbs better, no denying its more capable in this environment. So happy with how the Honcho is setup now and it looks the business in my opinion now ? Seen as the boy pinched the Defender and its now looking awesome, its fair to say dad was getting a bit jealous! So when an immaculate TRX4 Bronco came up for sale on facebook I couldn't resist ? In my defence it was incredibly well priced and included loads of wheels and tyres which I can sell to recoup some funds too ?? The keen eyed amongst you might have also noticed he now has some lights fitted too, these are the Traxxas light bar and front and rear lights. They aren't cheap but I can't fault the quality of them and the install is seamless which is a big plus. Acquired a TRX-4 Defender in a swap yesterday and took it for its first proper run this afternoon. I was on the fence whether I was going to keep it or not going into it's first run having heard how top heavy they are and I wasn't sure I really needed another crawler in our fleet.

I then set about fitting some skid plates on my Bronco. The boys defender came with some when I bought it and they certainly prevent the underside of the car getting all scratched up. Also been out for a run with ostewart and his other half at Chanctonbury Ring again which never disappoints. Had all intentions of keeping the dirt off them until a big puddle presented itself so into high gear my Bronco went and made a right old mess ? The jury is still out on whether it gets hung up more than before but they we're cheap enough for me to give them a go and make my mind up after a few more runs. They do look nice in flex pictures too ? The freshly customised TRX4's got their maiden run yesterday afternoon and just to top it off the weather was gorgeous too ? We headed to Stanmer Park which has been a regular spot for us since we got into RC's but this was the first time taking crawlers there.To ensure efficient delivery, we work with trusted carriers: DPD Local for next working day delivery and Royal Mail for the 2 working days option. All in all it was an absolute blast and I don't think there's a model out there that is so well suited for a trail run in mine and the boys opinion. Of course we still have plans for further mods and the main points of focus will be some forward weight on the Defender in the form of brass portal covers and such. With the Bronco it'll be weight low down on all four corners and a smaller battery to mount up front as this is an option out the box ?? Had a delivery of new electronics for mine in the form of the tried and tested HobbyWing 1080 ESC and a Holmes Hobbies Torque Master Expert 550 21t motor which I can't wait to try out on the trails. Waterproof Components – This is a big one for me. I have yet to traverse through any water, but having the ability to add yet another form of terrain to the party is amazing. With how often I find myself at a river or lake, I’ll be able to fully utilize my surroundings as a playground. TRX-4M performs like a full-size crawler because it’s built like one. A rigid steel ladder frame virtually eliminates flex to put more power to the ground. The steel frame rails are taller through the middle section for increased strength where it’s needed most.

You’ll never need to change course to avoid puddles, mud, or snow. We built TRX-4M for all-weather adventure with fully-waterproof electronics.To put things in perspective, you would need tires that are at least 1 inch taller than Traxxas TRX-4 Crawler’s to get the same clearance and ease with a straight axle. Ease Of Use Constructed out of tough ABS, TRX-4M bodies faithfully capture all the details of the full-size Bronco and Defender in exacting 1/18 scale. Tinted windows, spare tire carriers, and other molded body accessories give TRX-4M a truly authentic appearance. The Hella spot lights aren't functioning at the moment but still look sweet. The Warn winch is fully functioning though and the boy thinks its the best thing added to his rig so far ? The combination of the new bumper and winch means his front end now weighs a lot more than it used to, I'm concerned it may be a bit too much but we'll see. I've geared his down to a 9t pinion too to try and give the motor as much help as possible pushing all this weight around! They look much better and much closer to proper Land Rover wheels. Not quite as heavy as the aluminium wheels but with the added weight of the portal covers the trade off was definitely worth it. The Defender is no slouch though and still gets up some stuff that I didn't think it would have a chance at tbh ?? it also looks even more scale than the Bronco in my opinion.
