The wizard Bigby personally crafted this magical bracelet, and like most artifacts, it will have an assortment of randomly chosen properties, some positive, some negative. Aside from that, this excellent magical item allows the user to cast a variety of useful spells outside of combat, starting with Mage Hand, a spellcaster staple. This feat has a number of solid options that can boost the power of any Strength-based martial character. Unfortunately, the DC of the save abilities is limited to Strength or Constitution, which can limit its effectiveness for Dexterity builds. Frost giant ice shapers summon their power from frost rune-inscribed ice or similar objects that act as the source of some of their most potent abilities.

Because the power of their runes allows frost giant ice shapers to easily ascend to leadership roles in their enclaves, there’s a great opportunity to use one as the larger threat among an already challenging group of giants. Giants have a strong Norse theme in Dungeons & Dragons, including their use of magical runes. Some cool monsters in Glory of the Giants use runes, such as the death giant shrouded one, and the Rune Shaper feat lets player characters get a piece of the runic action, too. The Bloodshed Blade is a ferocious new magic item in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants that can appear in a variety of sword types, from greatswords to rapiers. Whatever this weapon's form, it has the same effect of using Hit Dice and the user's CON modifier to boost damage output. That makes it ideal for classes like paladin, barbarian, and fighter.Guile of the Cloud Giant is definitely the best feat in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, even if it requires Strike of the Giants first. The +1 to STR/CON/WIS is just the start -- this feat grants incredible defensive options that can get any player character out of trouble. Lucent Destroyer is a very rare musket that made its debut in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants. Like most firearms, the Lucent Destroyer is not easy to use, since most D&D characters aren't familiar with such weapons. But if a ranged-oriented character such as a wily ranger does become attuned to Lucent Destroyer, the payoff is huge.

Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giantsdelves into the ancient history of one of the primordial empires on the Material Plane, the legendary giants. The book sheds light on the giants’ ordning—the hierarchical structure of their civilization—as well as their religious beliefs and societal organizations across different realms.With 21 new magic items, the options from this book are plentiful. There’s only one downside: the items in the book all have a rarity of rare or above, meaning you can only start playing with them at later levels and can’t give out too many without your party becoming too powerful. Glory of the Giants is heavily inspired by Norse mythology. Vikings were very en vogue in the late 2010s, so D&D is a little late to the party – and the narration and lore occasionally feel tired because of it. Regardless, the theme still has a lot to offer – if you want official Thor and Loki DnD character builds or a DnD encounter with gods of the Norse pantheon, this book is a great place to start. Long ago, the giants were a mighty empire that ruled over the early days of the Material Plane. Today, you'll discover isolated tribes and clans of giants throughout the multiverse, each with a unique way of lifeand links to the bygone kingdom. I personally would have rather seen a couple choice items with a fully built-out rune system, similar to the tattoos in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, to present a more unique offering. But, you can easily poach the “Invoking” mechanic and transfer it to other items to jumpstart your venture into enhancing weapons with runes. The trol mutate is a moderate challenge for mid-level parties, and the real fun comes from how unpredictable and downright weird they can be. A troll mutate will have a randomized mutation such as a flexible, rubbery body, wings, or magic resistance, but a DM might choose to use all mutation options at once to make for a truly memorable troll that does it all. There’s a lot to freak out about with a frostmourn, but easily the most terrifying ability that these ghoulish giants gain is the power to turn its targets into frozen statues. A creature petrified in this way has a single hit point and will shatter if they take bludgeoning damage, killing them. Frostmourn TacticsAs for encounter tables, they aren’t separated by CR, meaning they’re not particularly useful for preparing a combat encounter. They also have an arbitrary “Attitude” mechanic thrown in that would be hard to account for if you were simply rolling to generate an encounter.
