stars. The blurb for this book says it can be a stand-alone – that’s a lie. You’d be very confused if you read this without having read Our Thing: The Ballerina & The Butcher Boy Complete Duet and Her Way. after the first chapter it was clear that it’s one of these trashy wattpad romances but i was totally in for it even tho the writing was terrible. but every single time i thought it can’t be worse nicci harris proved me wrong. Bronson's character somehow tells me he has a deep ache and profound grief that makes him mask himself with humor and sarcasm🥺🤧 This one was slightly darker than its predecessor and I really got a feel into just what Max’s life entails working in the district. We also get some questions finally answered some I guessed others I didn’t. We still don’t know everything but a picture has now started to form that is becoming clearer book by book. Exhibit B- "I may not be able to give her a fairy-tale. But she gives me a break from this nightmare."

Early morning: Some people find that reading in the morning helps them start their day with a positive and productive mindset. It's a solid 4.5 star read for me. There were a few issues that I just wanted to point out before swiftly moving on to the good stuff. I have so many words to say about this book but I find it hard to express how amazing it is. I won’t be giving any spoilers in this review because you just need to read it to believe it. I think I cried through the last 5 or so chapters. And I’m not a huge crier at all. I felt like the author completely tore me apart with her words. She made me feel like I was right their with them through this journey. I cried and laughed with them, I felt their sadness and pain. You will go through it all with them. I was so sad at the end, not because the book made me sad but because I could have read their story for days. I’m glad this isn’t the end of this series and we get Bronson’s story next. Just keeping my fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long. This group is a safe environment, where readers can find awesome new books to obsess over while gaining deeper insight into the creation of their favorite stories. Writers can share their craft, brainstorm and collaborate with peers. Indie Authors are showcased. All writers can find inspiration and camaraderie amongst an audience that understands their profession. Bloggers and Editors can network and discover new reads.I also want to mention I really enjoyed the balletic details scattered throughout. It’s clear Nicci Harris is either a former dancer, or she just really put a lot of time into her research. Either way, brava! Now I find myself not wanting to end this review, because that means their story is over, and it breaks my heart.

I loved her relationship with her sister, and especially her best mate Tony: Oh my giddy Aunt: Tony had the best lines and banter I really loved their friendship.

So, even as I stand in the shadows with him, as people get hurt… as people die… I refuse to let him believe he’s nothing more than a piece in his Family’s corrupt empire. Then there’s Toni, he’s a dream of a best friend!! I want him as mine. There’s vulnerable Xander (Nicci Harris please tell me we get a Xander book!!) Then you’ve got smooth and charming Clay, and then there’s Bronson. An absolute beast with a heart that’s probably going to break mine. Even Butch made me a gooey mess with his roundabout way of protecting his boys. Idk I physically couldn't read anymore- the writing really wasn't for me, (nor was the dialogue or characters) 🤷‍♀️.

There’s a couple of twists, one I saw coming and one I didn’t. And that one ruined me. Like snot dribbling, ugly crying got me. And that friggin’ letter. I WAS A MESS!!! His world is going to intoxicate her. The dangerous men that he calls family will want to use her, tutu and all.Max Butcher, notorious bad boy as the community knows him. He is not a relationship type of guy and is proud of it. He is known for his reputation of fighting/boxing. Will this all change when Cassidy comes into his life or will he keep her at an arm's distance. You know when you’re reading books and you have a few really good ones but then there’s the ones in between that are mediocre at best…THEN ALONG COMES THE ONE YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Yea that’s this book.
