Having worked closely together, Camden Lesbian Centre Project and the Black Lesbian Group merged to form the Camden Lesbian Centre and Black Lesbian Group (CLCBLG) in 1985. The theme of constant daily struggle to be understood echoes through every woman’s story, but it resonates alongside other themes that, moment by moment, make themselves known and counter the bitterness: the immense pride of knowing exactly who you are, the power and magic of love between women, the joy of knowing you are fighting a system simply by existing.
