Unravel Me: 2 stelle (mi sento generosa, se non altro perché qui almeno succede qualcosa, a differenza del primo volume, anche se il livello rimane comunque abbastanza basso) Kenji is perfect, he provides a great comedic relief. Juliette’s and his relationship was well needed for the story and i appreciate their relationship growing over time. Now Kenji is in the center and a bunch of other character whom i forgot their names but somehow deserved their own chapters Seriously, I couldn't get over how weird and crazy Warner was and then alluva sudden he's all mushy with Juliette and calling her "Love", and I have to say.... their chemistry was.... weird. I dunno, it just wasn't sitting right with me.

Aaron Warner. Period. Warner is one of my favorite parts of this series. He is my favorite book boyfriend out of all the books I’ve read for many reasons. I’ll name a few. As for the other characters; James is adorable and funny, loved him. Kenji is fantastic, seriously fantastic. Id give him his own book. I want him as my new best friend, loved loved loved him. Castle was not so great although I did like his and Kenji’s relationship. Non succede nulla o quasi. 3 libri e 2 novelle, e forse (e sottolineiamo "forse") l'unico volume in cui avvengono avvenimenti che portano avanti la trama è il secondo, poi per il resto il nulla. Il triangolo amoroso porta via il 90% della storia e il word-building è di fatto inesistente. Mi aspettavo un po' di azione nel libro finale, ma la Mafi liquida tutta la faccenda negli ultimissimi capitoli, con un anticlimax da paura (il cattivone muore in due secondi, grazie ad un piano che fa acqua da tutte le parti messo in piedi da una banda di ragazzetti che dovrebbero essere la versione poraccia degli Avengers...seriously?); Adam e Warner sono fratellastri, e anche questo colpo di scena viene gestito in maniera terribile: i due si odiano a morte e vogliono ammazzarsi a vicenda (ricordiamo che Warner ha quasi torturato a morte Adam nel primo libro, ma a quanto pare non frega più niente a nessuno), e poi, una volta scoperto questo segreto, cosa succede? Volemose bene, passiamo più tempo tutti insieme, siamo una famiglia. Ma perché????? Perché tutto questo buonismo, dove tutti sono felici per tutti e si vogliono bene tra di loro???

Destroy Me: 2 stelle (anche se non troppo registrato, Warner rimane sempre il personaggio più interessante di questa serie) Plot wise, there was nothing overly surprising. In a sense, I guess you could say this was a very formulaic story - though it just goes to show that formulas do work eh? I do not like to think about eyeballs. They just exist. I don't want to look at them. I hate this cover. Juliette's "power" or "glitch" or whatever the hell it is, is never fully explained in detail. It's skirted around in a mass of overwrought metaphors and complete bullshit. The sun drops into the ocean and splashes browns and reds and yellows and oranges into the world outside my window. A million leaves from a hundred different branches dip in the wind, fluttering with the false promise of flight. The gust catches their withered wings only to force them downward, forgotten, left to be trampled by the soldiers stationed just below.

But that's irrelevant. The hideous covers are irrelevant. But... is that Adam's eye? Because the only thing I took from this is that Adam's eyes are blue blue blue blue cobalt blossoming bruise clear as the midnight sky blue. Also... kissing when you are fleeing for your lives?? I'm sure this is not the correct way of things, right? And yet it occurs in way too many young adult books. I'm like: "run, run, run!" but the characters are too busy swapping saliva. I must be old-fashioned in my thinking that staying alive is kinda important. The world its set in isn’t too bad but it isn’t focused on enough, or else we missed it in-between the personifications of the sun and metaphors about breathing. Its a typical dystopia, world gone wrong little group of rebels out to save everything. Except this group of rebels all have magical powers. Did not wow me, the plot pulled me in but romance fuels me and I really wasnt feeling adam or warner. Adam was so boring it was deadly, nothing about their relationship was original and he was SO clingy. Warner was the worst person to ever live and when I heard everyone saying he was the 'booktok it boy' I wasnt expecting him to be like.. that. The plot was pretty good, I was pulled in with the main character being seen as 'insane.' But this is not surprising since both Acotar and shatter me got the idea from a Turkish novel "Heart Beats"

And story? What story? *sigh* It's about time we just opened up an entirely new genre called "Dystopian Romance" or alternatively "Romantic Dystopia", though I don't wish to be pessimistic, I'm pretty sure half the new releases of 2012 will make it into that category. If there was a story then it drowned amidst the waves of overenthusiastic and flowery prose. This reminded me of Article 5 in that the dystopia was there to make the romance interesting. One was certainly there to complement the other, but it was the wrong way around. these books will make you feel a lot of emotions and will make you care for the characters and for the plot. Juliette “loved” Adam because he was the only one who was nice to her, the only one who noticed her when they were kids. It hasn't changed. He can touch her, and she- the girl who has never been touched, the girl whose whole life she wanted to feel loved- she “fell in love” with him. But nothing learned within the novellas is crucial to the plot of the main series. They’ll only provide extra details that make the novels more impactful. Hey!” Kenji shouts. “I am not here for this abusive relationship, okay?” He points at Warner. “I did not sign up for this shit!”
