To activate your CO alarm, pull the disabling tab out of the alarm and wait up to 1 minute for the green LED to flash to confirm the alarm is active. After 1 minute, press the test button to hear the alarm sound. Please note, the alarm will not sound before the 1 minute activation period is complete. CO alarms and rental properties The alarm features the latest CO sensing technology and can be used to replace end-of-life FireAngel CO-9X alarms. Fitted with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensors within the unit will deteriorate after 10 years, so to ensure you’re protected we recommend you replace the unit after this time. Experience both audible and visual safety warnings with the digital screen, which will change colour to indicate different incident types for clear safety advice.

We have been monitoring it since and I’m pleased to say that the issue appears to have been resolved so no requirement to issue a replacement. We do not recommend a smoke alarm to be fitted in areas where excessive dust or dirt could contaminate the sensing chamber, making it over sensitive. It is also not advised to fit alarms in bathrooms, shower rooms or any other very damp and humid areas, where moisture can cause unwanted alarms.
