I saw that denibbing is recommended with fiddes hardwax oil, how do you do this for a large area such as a floor? If you’ve chosen to use steel wool though, then you’ll want to use that dry, otherwise your steel wool will turn rusty! You don't need to apply much pressure at all while you're sanding - just go over it very gently, and do it in the direction of the wood grain, unless it's MDF or something that doesn't have a wood grain ofcourse.

The purpose of doing this between coats is to smooth down any raised grain or imperfections that have occurred from the first application. I have since read the instruction for the wood wax I will be using which says to have sanded the bare wood to 120 grit for maximum absorption into the wood.
