If you do happen to get any adhesive in the eye you should wash and then go immediately to a doctor. Both waterproof pipe repair tape and plastic repair epoxy putty will provide you with a long-lasting soil pipe repair. You can reinforce the seal provided by either of those materials with a pipe repair bandage wrapped over the top. When the epoxy is still soft, it should be easier to remove. Take and use some acetone, which should help. Using a cloth with the acetone, wipe the area with the glue and it should eventually lift off.

Gather materials. Get together all the plastic pieces you want to join. You’ll also need and your adhesive, of course, tissue paper, something to protect your work area, and sandpaper (for bonding smooth surfaces).If you now have an area of bare (unprimed) plastic surrounding the repair, you will need to seal the surface to provide a secure foundation for the primer and top coat of paint. We recommend using the E-TECH Technik Plastic Pre-Primer Part No ER00110; follow the instructions on the can. Apply activator (if applicable). If you are using an activator, apply it to both surfaces unless otherwise indicated. Wait until it has dried completely, then proceed with the adhesive. When dealing with epoxy that has hardened may be difficult but not impossible. You will first have to soften the epoxy with an adhesive remover. You can also try denatured alcohol or paint thinners. Take a cloth that has been dipped into the remover and wipe the affected area. You should be able to remove the resin without leaving any residue, especially if you have used the correct adhesive remover. Always work in a ventilated space and wear gloves to avoid getting onto your skin. Stay safe. Work in a well-ventilated, protected area. Wash your hands when you are finished, and optionally wear gloves for extra protection. As you wrap the tape around the damaged area of pipe, it will bond to both the soil pipe and itself to form a solid rubber band over the leak area. This band provides a high pressure repair; multiple tapes when used together can hold up to 30bar.

In many cases that include plastic repairs, you need to find a compatible adhesive. You should be able to find out what plastic and adhesive works best together by reading the product label. You should choose the size that best suits your needs, do you need adhesive for a small or larger area. Some adhesives come in a one-time-use container, which is great for smaller projects. However, you will need a larger amount for bigger projects, so make sure you work this out before you go out and buy. Unless you have some serious, serious digestive issues then silicone pipe repair tape is more than capable of offering a long-lasting repair to a leaking soil pipe. Waterproof pipe repair tape is the first tool you should consider when it comes to fixing a leaking soil pipe. Whilst there are a number of waterproof repair tapes on the market, the best type for pipe repair are those made from self-fusing silicone. A leaking soil pipe is no fun. If you think you have one, your first step should be to locate the leak. Once that's done, you'll need to move on to repairing the leak. Depending on where the leak is , you may have a very easy or very hard time accessing it. It could be anywhere from your crawlspace/main sewer line, all the way to your bathroom. While you can repair the leak temporarily , most of the measures we suggest won't last forever.Prepare adhesive and activator (if applicable). Open the adhesive and, if relevant, the activator according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Whenever you are dealing with adhesives, you will need to match it with the material you are working on. Here are a few examples: Plastic can come in many different sizes as well as shapes and can be found in almost all homes. Sometimes, these plastic items need a little repair work, so it may be a good idea to keep some epoxy specifically for plastic around the house. You need to know when that plastic pipe under the sink might spring a leak.

If you do want to reinforce your repair, then consider buying a pipe repair kit as opposed to individual items. Kits come with both the sealing material and a bandage at a cheaper cost than when buying items individually. Once the Putty is shaped, sand it with progressively finer grades of abrasive paper smoothing the Putty and feathering* the edges into the surrounding paint and bumper/trim. You also get the putty epoxy adhesives, which require you to knead the two components together before application. Many of the epoxy putty products can be used as an adhesive but also as a filler. Removing the excess epoxy putty can be done by using a sharp blade. Allow the Putty to fully cure/harden for approx 30 minutes at room temperature. It may take longer to cure in cooler temperatures or if the correct ratio of Putty to hardener is not exact.
