Certainly, the tension here is delivered with similar mastery, and Rose (who was a high school chemistry and physics teacher – education’s loss was a gain for readers) knows how to juggle all the requisite elements in a taut narrative like this.

I was particularly fond of the scenes between Jenna and Nicky as Jenna starts to become familiar with Steven's sons. It would have put me off completely and I'd have missed the not-to-be-missed books of the two Reagan brothers. If Steven wants to have a future with Jenna, he must deal with the issues in his past while he races to find a serial killer whose actions are escalating. These two are surrounded by secondary and ancillary characters that could be neighbors and friends, they're so realistic, and Steven's boys are particularly endearing - especially Matt. Stephen assembles an extremely talented investigative team to solve the string of murders, and each person on the team has their own personality and abilities that they bring to the table to get the job done.The two meet in less than ideal circumstances and while neither of them is looking for a relationship, the attraction between them is undeniable and they end up tentatively dating.

I knew I wanted to read Steven Thacker's story after reading Don't Tell and I wasn't disappointed - much. She keeps contact with her deceased fiance's family and her best friend is another teacher at the school she works for, High Point High School. I would definitely read this novel again in the future and would recommend this to romantic suspense and suspense readers. I had to admire his determination to put the killer behind bars after his own investigation went south, but on the other hand, he irritated me a bit when he tried to put the moves on Jenna. Jenna is Brad's teacher and brings his failing grades to the attention of is father, because it is so out of character for him.He constantly lashed out at her and acted like a jealous, petulant jerk 90% of the time, and there were a couple of times that I thought she would have been within her rights to slap him good. For some reason I can't quite put my finger on, I didn't feel the connection between the hero and heroine quite as deeply as I would have liked. However, it does lead to some problems with Jenna, and even I got a little miffed with him when he got jealous and spitefully left Jenna alone at the school even though he supposedly feared for her safety.

I read them again and again, these are to replace the ones that have gone missing and/or now have loose pages.
