Little Robots is a stop-motion animated children's television series, produced by Cosgrove Hall Films for Create TV & Film [2] and broadcast on CBeebies. The series was based on the eponymous book by Mike Brownlow in 1999, published by Ragged Bears Publishing.

Rusty squeaks and he doesn't like it at all. He even doesn't like himself because of it. What he doesn't know at first is that each of his friends has their own difference, in this case a noise. My 2 year old boys loved the noises in the book, and could even point to the noise words because they were in a different font. That makes it a great book for recognizing word to print connections. As a mother of a child with Down Syndrome I think this book would be a great book to read to a class and talk about things everyone has that are different. In the end of the book, not only do they each have a difference but they also use their differences to make music and the concept of using their individuality to make a stronger thing is so great! The series was redubbed in the United States with voice actors using American accents despite the show already being in English.A family of alien robots, The Neo-Cateri, arrives on Earth, hunted by insect-like robots, the Zingkal, who are out to destroy their biological matter. While repairing Rusty the alien child unintentionally gives Rusty the ability to feel pain, which makes him unable to perform his job. Sometimes here in Vegas, people drink too much. It isn't a secret but you don't end up with a hangover if you face this bot. You better believe it. But it's not a pina colada or strawberry daiquiri that's killing you either. Just a potent punch of Rusty's trusty screwdriver. Give it up for RUSTY!" Rusty is a bright orange, square-headed robot who looks a bit as if he’s made out of bits of tin. Perhaps he’s a space-age version of the Tin Woodman! Quark develops a semi-intelligent blob that soon becomes jealous of anyone who gets too close to Dr. Slate, including Lt. Hunter.

Legion Ex Machina #6 (voiced by Dean Haglund) - Also known as Dr. Gilder, #6 was the only member whose emotion grid was fully intact. However his emotions are highly exaggerated and are considered by his peers as a weakness. He was sent to Quark Industries as a spy to gather blue prints and information on various Quark staff. He was first portrayed as a shy, weak if a bit disturbed scientist but was soon revealed as a Legion Ex Machina member. His emotions also changed to a sadistic and psychopathic killer. His exoskeleton was destroyed when it was dropped into a grinder by Big Guy in "The Reluctant Assassin". His brain was destroyed when Big Guy tried to access his memory files and triggered a self-defense program, detonating itself in "Really Big Guy". He is the first member to be destroyed and also gave the protagonists some clues on how to destroy Legion Ex Machina members (see #4's demise above).Quark develops Nurds, tiny robots that repair broken machinery. Some Nurds infect Big Guy and alter him, making him capable of autonomous behaviour with no need for a pilot. However, the Nurds run amoke constantly ungrading and fixing everything they find, even if it doesn't need it, which includes a recently destroyed Legion robot. Sporty Robot (voiced by Lenny Henry in the UK dub and Paul Mitchell-Jones in the US dub) is the strongest and fittest of the Little Robots. he's constantly running, playing games and sports, and never gets tired of making himself stronger and fitter. Sporty has his own, private gym with a trampoline and a conveyor belt. Rusty is looking forward to her bouncing lesson with Sporty, but Spotty rushes in and takes her place. Rusty doesn't like that he squeaks all the time. ALL the time. And his squeaking has him feeling down. But then his friend Belle comes along to say that everything is fine and he just needs a friend. Together they go off and they meet Honk, and then Twango, and finally Boom-bot, and together they made a unique music.
