I particularly loved the cat and mouse game of chase between Alice and the rabbit, the colours are beautiful and the world of Wonderland is like no other.

In erms of plot the film begins with Alice having a crisis at the thought of being trapped in marriage and, whilst running away, falling down a rabbit hole into a whole new world of talking animals, food and drinks that change one's size and a Mad Hatter. In the hands of Disney’s extraordinary animation artists, Lewis Carroll’s immortal literary classic comes to life like never before! Alice's precise, confused, petulant and adolescent nature is well-captured by the ever-excellent Kathryn Beaumont. But the song "I Give Myself Very Good Advice" and the unsatisfying adaptation of "The Walrus and Carpenter" bring the story to a halt.Probably the closest Disney ever came to getting the right "feel" to a film and in places this is actually pretty subversive. We had an older DVD of this and were surprised at how much richer the colours were in this blu-ray release. Alice meets all her old friends from the Disney movie, such as the White Rabbit, and of course the Mad Hatter, who is potrayed brilliantly by Depp.
