You could flick through the whole thing in less than 30 minutes, but I imagine some fans will pour over this and the pictures of Chung and her friends used to illustrate the book for hours. Elsewhere: there are thoughts on haircuts, lipsticks, "selfies", as well as sartorial advice (apparently you should look in the mirror when you get dressed – who knew? The visual elements vary from photos Alexa shot herself, to photos of her icons on the silver screen from archival sources.Second, it reminded me of the value of documenting my life and what fuels it amid a time where everything remains digitalized and seems to move too fast. She said so herself that this book was more of a side project in which she would babble about nothing in particular - a journal of sorts. A poor condition book can still make a good reading copy but is generally not collectible unless the item is very scarce.

Instead, she candidly mentions (as a side note in parenthesis) that her modeling card would hold her name alongside her Polaroid “Minus the “Chung” part so that clients could project whatever nationality they wanted onto my face”. When talking about Annie Hall, she says, "It was the first time I recognised that sexuality didn't have to be expressed through high skirts and crop tops.All in all, I would say that I enjoyed the vibe this book gave off, but there were some problematic sayings that made me lower my rating. This book is exactly how I imagine Alexa to be, down to earth and the kind of girl that feels she can tell you anything whilst still keeping some mystery to her private life. Fashion muse, model, Fuse News cohost, and British “it girl” Chung’s first book is heavy on style and charm but light on substance. Although I wasn't impressed with this book, at least it was a super quick read that helped me catch up on my Reading Challenge before the year ends.

though it just at a glance looked ridiculously awful and I don't even know who Alexa Chung is (she's a model, I find out, but…) and fashion is something I don't care about. There has been immense rise of awareness within the past decade concerning gender expression, and diversity within the beauty standards. I grew up reading those Amelia books published by American Girl, so I really love scrapbook style books like this but I think the problem is she doesn’t come across as an interesting person so it’s not very interesting to look through her scrapbook/journal/moodboard/tumblr! What I love is her honest, frank views that make me laugh, we all know we have been there – “Scrolling through photos [on Instagram] of girls your ex may or may not be shagging won’t help you. Inside the pink fabric cover, there are lots of doodles, photos with friends (Chung is a fan of the earnestly laid-back photo-booth strip), childhood memories, musings ("Lolita" is her favoured summer look – oh dear) and endless lists of famous people Chung thinks look great, from Julie Christie and Nastassja Kinski to Mick Jagger and Kate Moss.

The thing that somewhat problematic is the allusion of reinforcing this standard girl hair she refers to. I will keep my eyes open and let you know if I unearth anything - I'd be really grateful if you could pop back and let me know if you find anything too :) Good luck!
