The storyline is complex but very clever, and although there are many twists, there’s one in particular that blew me away, I just never saw it coming. OUR HOUSE is the one you may be most familiar with as it's on our screens as a major four-part ITV drama starring Martin Compston, Tuppence Middleton and Rupert Penry-Jones. A gripping tale of love, secrets and deception - it's the best psychological thriller I've read in a long time. I was on high alert with one of the main characters in this tale but the story didn’t go quite the way I anticipated, which was excellent! Alex is our narrator in the present we know he’s keeping secrets and fearful of his past rearing its ugly head but we’re not quite sure what form it will take. One such activity is the proposed development of a walking trail on a disused piece of track behind the estate where they live.Tweede leven' is niet echt een superspannende thriller en ik zou ook dit verhaal eerder psychologisch noemen. Interestingly he’s surrounded by equally unlikeable characters, including a single pregnant woman Beth brings into their house.

The only downside was that the ink smudges too much and some was transferring to my hands/ fingers, which is why I knocked off half a star. I picked PART of the twist quite early and was feeling VERY smug about it- but the ending still got me. The British teenager was also said to have influenced Anderson Lee Aldrich, the only suspect in a shooting at a Colorado gay bar in which five people were killed.

Another brilliant domestic thriller noir from Louise Candlish takes us between the 1990s and the present day. Candlish takes us directly to the events in both time stages and I was fully immersed in the action of each respective era.
