Description

Ravagers are an interesting bag of utility that favours going wide on heroes and playing a board control game. The problem however is that the actual boosts you gain from this legion are rather… limited. A mediocre selection of artefacts leaves something to be desired and the command traits are under-powered to make up for the fact you can take so many of them. The Ravager command ability is strong, but it’s competing for attention in a faction that’s got many great command abilities as it is, and unfortunately the summoned units aren’t going to stand up to any real resistance. Meet the Soul Stalkers, followers of Archaon and Champions of the Dark Prince. These warriors are united in their cunning and ruthless hunting prowess. Drawn from several of the hunting tribes that seek their glory around the Varanspire, The Soul Stalkers are often sent after specific targets of key value by Archaon, where coordinated and precision strikes are required to bring their quarry down. Insidious destruction is guaranteed to follow in the wake of wherever this damned warband aims their verdant ire. These are currently 170 points for a five and sadly often used more like semi-survivable chaff rather than delivering the hammerstrike you may be wishing for, I am afraid you need to look to Varanguard for that. As with the Chaos Lord, the CSL is slow and in this case also quite fragile. You’ll generally want to make sure he has an escort to protect him and provide him the benefits of a screen and look out sir. Chaos Sorcerer Lord on Manticore

But we want a full 1,000 point army that we can start playing with, so to add to the above I’d possibly look at buying a Chaos Sorcerer Lord, a Darkoath Warqueen and a set of Darkoath Savagers. What will it all cost? Ellarr: The big brother of the CSL retains the Oracular visions and trades in Daemonic Power for Winds of Chaos, a highly random spell that has the potential to do absolutely nothing or a devastating amount of mortal wounds. The Manticore herself isn’t too shabby either, and the two together present a competent melee threat you can use to harass skirmishing units and provide direct support away from the majority of the fight. The mobility afforded by the Manticore is a key thing here, as I’m a big fan of heroes with high movement and fly because of just how much tactical flexibility it gives you – a unit like this during a mission of Places of Arcane Power is worth it’s wait in Ur-Gold. We’re already familiar with the Ogroid Myrmidon from Warcry, and now with the Ogroid Theridons a whole unit of these monstrous slaughterers follow in its wake. There are heaps of new tabletop gambits to discover inside – though the hellish headlines all herald Eye of the Gods boons and Ensorcelled Banners to let you lavish gifts on your most favoured units.SRM: There’s a lot of big monsters that do a lot of melee damage in this book, and this certainly is one of them. If a Hero nominated at the start of the game babysits him, he can turn mediocre 4+ hit rolls into pretty good 3+ hit rolls. It can occasionally dish some random mortal wounds if said Hero is outside 12″ but they can hit your own units too. I’d probably skip this one. Mutalith Vortex Beast Our goal is to build upon and consolidate the great work already being done by other community members across various forums, reddit threads, and hobby blogs, and bring together a comprehensive library of all these useful Build Instruction booklets. Ally considerations: Lord of Blights lets you make a unit harder to hit (-1 malus) from ranged (or melee if 20+ models) which is nice but CP hungry in a faction starved for it. Now the Harbinger of Decay on the other hand has a command ability so good you want to save CP for it – Mortal Nurgle units within 7” (not just wholly within!) gain a 5+ FNP save for the turn which is just bonkers when you consider how resilient S2D units generally are already. Warscroll Cards: Slaves to Darkness – 54 exclusive cards detailing every single unit and Endless Spell in the Slaves to Darkness The models come on three medium size sprues and 50mm bases. You start by building the three bodies, and then you can choose between Goroan Falchions (and shield) and Great Axes. You can build either three regular Ogroids with falchions or axes or build a champion, standard bearer, and musician, all with a choice of falchions or great axes as well. Analysis: Teleport effects are incredibly powerful in Age of Sigmar, especially for S2D who may have a hard time with board control due to being mostly an elite army with limited range capabilities to shoot skirmishing units off objectives. Combos insanely well with a Marauder unit for a near guaranteed turn 1 charge provided you get the spell off. Your first spellcaster in any list should be given his spell. Grade: A+ There are some minor options available – two head options for the Karkadrak Lord and head options for the warriors (male and female which is cool). There’s also the option to build a Doom Knight champion, with a Doom Flail, for the Chaos Knights to give extra Doom.

Giving him the Reaperblade and Daemonbound Steel does mean that the damage output is slightly better than that of the Daemonbound Flail when you also take into account the mortal wounds caused by Hellfire Sword: Weapon SRM: The one Wizard with the Everchosen keyword and the model voted Most Likely Model to be Airbrushed on a 1992 GMC Vandura Rally, you’ve got this multi eyed weirdo. He’s exceedingly fast and also super fragile, so keep him out of melee. Once per battle he can summon a bundle of Daemons which is always welcome, and can cast and unbind 2 spells a turn. Unfortunately his unique spell, Infernal Flames, is going to amount to a worse Arcane Bolt against all but the biggest horde units. He’s also extremely expensive, more than factoring in the cost of any buddies he can summon. Chaos Sorcerer Lords should be your go-to wizards, not this expensive nerd. If a model from this battalion is slain in the combat phase, units from the same battalion can move an extra 3″ when they pile in until your next hero phase. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

These sculpts are excellent though, very dynamic but close enough to the originals to fit nicely in in with the rest of the range. They also don’t have markings for any specific god so can be painted to suit your taste in appalling extra-dimensional overlord or overlords. A great update to classic sculpts. Obviously, we don’t know the actual pricing of the individual units quite yet, but we have plenty of evidence to go off. Either way, the estimated value here should give you a great idea of what to expect. Other Benefits: The Undivided Warshrine buff provides a unit full rerolls of hits and wounds for a unit, which is very good and will often be the correct choice for your Warshrines even if the target unit doesn’t have the Undivided mark. If they do however, they will also benefit from the ability to re-roll charges for the turn.Our general for this particular list. He’s tough and hits like a hammer. Giving him the Mark of Nurgle means the enemy have to subtract 1 from their wound rolls that target him when using melee weapons. It also gives him the ability to use the Command Ability: Bestow Contagion. This will allow our other Nurgle Marked units (Chaos Warriors and Knights) a chance to cause D3 mortal wounds to enemy units within 3″ on a 3+.
