Although Three have moved on from their customer service troubles in 2014 when they were fined for their handling of customer complaints, their current quarterly complaint figures are the worst of all the major pay monthly mobile customers.

The app isn't yet available to mobile broadband customers, but they're looking at ways of rolling it out to them so that's one to keep an eye on. SIM only

The Three 4G Plus Hub is an affordably priced and very fast 4G home broadband router, with a handy app to make setup and device management a breeze. We won’t dwell too much on the differences here, but in short the new model is a clear improvement, offering higher maximum speeds. This helps you optimise the placement of your Hub, manage settings, view connected devices, and easily share access with others. It also lets you connect directly to the web portal, for managing everything else. Performance and speed There are a number of alternatives to the Three 4G Hub, but if you’re signing up for home broadband directly with a mobile network (rather than buying a router separately and then finding a SIM-only plan for it) then the EE 4GEE Home Router 2 and the Vodafone GigaCube 4G are the main rivals. Ok, to actually configure the settings there’s a bit more to it than that, but it’s all very straightforward, and the Three 4G Plus Hub is no exception. In fact, the 4G Plus Hub arguably makes setup even easier than most rival devices, as it comes with a companion app.
