Timbre – Earbuds generally don’t suffer from bad timbre, although I have read of a few exceptions. The KB Ear Stellar reproduces instruments/notes in a realistic/natural way, nothing off-sounding with it. The body of the KS2 is made out of plastic and feels pretty lightweight. While this is beneficial in terms of comfort, it does concern me a bit about the fragility/durability of these IEMs. CONCLUSION: Music is pleasant, good for electronic without too much punch, video and film given the well expressed mids. Definitely not suitable for sound engineers, but given the low price they are a great deal for those who want to listen to music in a decent way. Attachments These IEMs are exactly like that, except there’s no ear-equivalent to coffee that you can sniff to “reset” your senses. Here’s why:

Separation – Gets the job done. I do have to note that it struggles when things get busy – instruments just go over a bit with each other, but nothing extreme. I, however, have not listened to an earbud that does this particularly well, and the Stellar is the best I have right now. For most songs, these will perform fine.Mids: The upper-mids are boosted as is very common nowadays, with the typical 2Khz and 4Khz boosts in place. This makes female vocals too upfront and higher-pitched vocals end up being shouty and fatiguing at times. There are also hints of sibilance, as can be found on Avril Lavigne’s I’m With You. To be fair, these earphones perform pretty well in the highs as compared to other earphones at its price range. Usually earphones within this price range has too much highs and sound sibilant, but this is never the case for KS2.

The bass is prominent on this IEM as it sound more punchy, precise and definitely has an ample slam, to think that sub-bass is more prominent on the bass region. If you’re familiar with the dreaded brown KZ cable, you will feel right at home with the one included with the KS2. This is a tightly-braided copper cable with QDC type 2-pin connectors and pre-formed ear guides. Above the Y-split the cable is quite thin and that plus the omission of a chin slider means that it’s very prone to tangling. Believe is rated at 17ohms@98dB/mW, does require a bit of power to be driven. Portable sources like phone or even a DAP’s 3.5mm phone out might not have enough juice but adding a portable amp or desktop setup surely helps. The sound does scale up with power to be more dynamic with better punch in lows and good extension in the highs, the soundstage, layering and separation also improves when the Believe is driven with adequate power.Unlike company like TRN or KZ that mostly create hybrid or multi-BA IEM, Kbear take more risk and have lauch single Dynamic IEM as well as Hybrid, Single BA and even planar-magnetic Hybrid. Yes, this is the opinion of one person on the internet. Please do not get too offended if your favourite IEM isn’t graded as highly as you’d like. (vice versa applies) Patterned (according to their literature) as slightly warm and inviting, I again concur with their advertising. It is also v-shaped. Even I can sense that. While neither bass nor treble is over-emphasized, they definitely take the front. Vocals are not subdued or withdrawn that much though, and overall it is a pleasantly warm signature, which fits my bill. For the price, even better. The Vido is another set with excellent price to performance ratio. Lower mids on the Vido are more depressed and not as full as the KBEAR Stellar. Treble is more extended on the Vido. Subbass extension is less than the KBEAR Stellar and technicalities are slightly worse in the Vido, except for soundstage, where the Vido is better. The guitar strings in the left side and the drums in the right side are represented well clearly. The whole composition sounds very nice with nice coherency.
