Description

The frame of the shelter comes already set up, so you don't have to spend time assembling poles and threading them through the tent's fabric. The Shelter is supplied in a spacious bag and comes with two lightweight aluminium tension rods for added support. In a market flooded with cheap bivvies, the Nash H-Gun Strongbow is a serious contender. OK, it’s never going to trouble its established big brothers like the Titan, but for those just getting into the sport or for those on a tight budget, the Strongbow is the perfect choice. The Strongbow is capable of withstanding gale force winds and monsoon like storms. The skin is heavy-duty for long term waterproofing and durability. It also features zip-able panels to expose mosquito windows, a rear mesh vent to enhance airflow, a storm window and a removable groundsheet. Some anglers may prefer to keep this fitted, which is useful if setting up your umbrella over wet ground. This proved to be easy using the telescopic alloy storm rods. It took me around 5 minutes.

One final, added bonus is the two-rod retention straps, which will securely house your rod whilst you rebait or adjust your rig. We found that the Fox R-series brolly system is a really solid, well thought-out, and well-built fishing shelter and is a great all-rounder.The canopy of the shelter is constructed from PU-coated nylon, which has been treated to increase its durability and extend its lifespan. The extended side skirts allow for extra protection from the elements in particularly bad conditions.

There are various extras you can get (many of which come as standard) with oval brollies including groundsheets, front panels with windows and roll up and removable doors, and even full winter wraps. All these extras only add to the versatility of the oval brolly and allow the angler to simply take the extras required to cater for the conditions at hand.

Additionally, advancements with the old internal brolly design by Aqua and Trakker saw the framework moved to the outside of the shelter, which increased space and improved the stability. The Overnighter is also easily adapted to a full shelter system offering protection from all angles by fitting the matching overwrap (available to buy separately). This overwrap has easy access doors and can transform the brolly into a mini-bivvy, making this one of the most versatile systems available.Verdict– We love it. There are 4 ribs that make up the frame of this brolly system which makes it sturdy and rigid and there is an option that allows you to change the doors from clear PVC, a solid Khaki door, or just the mozzy mesh.

We are avid fans of the original Fox easy shelter that served us on many carp fishing sessions across the years. The best weather for carp fishing, however, may also be conducive to using a brolly system as a mixture of rain, and at times, high temperatures will certainly need you under some cover at points during your session.I personally use a Trakker Pioneer Ultralite, which follows the principles of brolly design but has an external aero grade frame to offer better strength and stability.
