This is the first fragrance I have smelled that really reminds me of a barbershop, more exactly the water in the spray bottle that barbers use to dampen your hair and touches of the barbicide disinfectant. If I had to compare it with a more natural smell, I would say it smells like you just cut wet grass but also managed to mow down some violet flowers in the process. It has a very dewy and ozonic/airy character. My problem is with longevity and boringness. I'm on my 3rd bottle. I would buy one get bored and sell it, then proceed to miss it and buy another one. Now, I've just decided to keep it in my collection. Might not be intended for someone my age but man is this a GREAT scent. Used to spray this all over myself until I found BDC, and still wear it at home from time to time. Green Irish Tweed opens with top notes of iris and lemon verbena. The middle notes include violet leaves. The base notes are ambergris and Mysore sandalwood.

I have tested this on scan twice. The first time it lasted 8 to 10 hours. The second it lasted two. No way I’m trusting these batches. Ended up getting tres nuit. It’s so close for about the first three or four hours. It doesn’t stay as soft and smooth as a skin scent like green Irish tweed. Feels more like a classic, punchy fougere. First few seconds have an alcohol scent which doesn't exist in 2014 (as expected because of maturation and evaporation of top notes over time). Much more citrusy and fresh with a stronger violet leaf and lemon verbena note. First, the scent: On my skin it opens with green mint, verbena and moss, and then slowly it goes into earthy violet and salty ambergris. Performance is good, but you have to slightly overspray it. Apparently it gets better over time, so I'll let it macerate a bit. What you are smelling and what’s responsible for the typical smell is mainly the aromachemical dihydromyrcenol and some others. Probably calone and iso e super. YES: ALL of these fragrances get their typical aroma mainly from synthetics.

I will clear this up by drawing a music analogy, as the art of sound is often mirrored by the art of scent. Are you looking for an incredible fragrance to wear each and every day? Cool Water Intense is just the one you’re looking for. It has the potential to become your signature scent. One of the most iconic fragrances From Pierre Bourdon and Creed. And an important fragrance in perfumery history. However, Pierre Bourdon created a similar fragrance "Cool Water" a few years later. The two fragrances are very similar in scent but hugely different in the price. If you are into niche, you have to go with stuff like Maison Francis Kurkdjan (extrait versions), Nishane, Parfums de Marly (anything PDM is worth your money, in my opinion). Initio which happens to be De Marly's sister company also has great fragrances that perform superbly.

The Irishman in me is offended at this. Never in my life in Ireland have I smelled something like this lolHence, the vainglorious pretentiousness of the Creed line spoils the fun of their few good perfumes (case in point: Green Irish Tweed).

After approximately 30 minutes, the top note gracefully transitions to reveal the more delicate floral accents of violet and iris. The dry down, however, is the true highlight of this fragrance – a harmonious blend of musky and woody notes, courtesy of the ambergris and sandalwood. This captivating combination along with the heart notes captures the essence of rolling hills, crisp spring air, and the invigorating freshness of a gentle breeze. PDM: my favorite fragrance house - i can blind-buy anything from them at this point (Carlisle, Herod, Layton Exclusif, Haltane, Oajan are masterpieces)

So, here is the comparison of Davidoff Cool Water, Cool Water intense, and Cool Water Parfum: Opening I own this and tres nuit by armaf. Both are good fragrances but this one is much superior in its scent. It is very smooth and you can tell they used the best ingredients for this one. Armaf tres nuit smells synthetic and not in a good way. Performance on both is similar, creed’s being better thankfully. What I really think about Creed is most of their scents (not all of them) are very (very) similar. Someone calls it Trademark, and it's ok, but when it becomes the main ingredient the risk is it could turn to be a limit.

Moreover, they didn’t use any controversial notes like leather, castoreum, e.tc. So easily, you can use Cool Water Intense for any purpose like office meetings, hangouts, e.t.c.

Indeed, spring in a bottle, as others have mentioned. A very safe, green, clean, fresh, citrusy, soapy aromatic fougère. Although it contains aquatic notes too it does not smell oceanic. Actually, its freshness is comparable to the barbershop leaning Chanel's Egoiste Platinum. GIT is a versatile, supremely gentlemanly fragrance, however it comes with a ridiculously high price tag. It does smell like Cool Water but much higher quality indeed. There's lots of blue, but in an ozonic aromatic, not artificial aquatic kind of way. There's a lot of ambergris/ambroxan(?) - it's this kind of leathery-salty from the very beginning to the end. It does last about 10 to 11 hours on my skin, BUT! the projection is moderate throughout the lifetime of the fragrance, it's never a screamer and it's the strongest for about 3-4. My favorite fragrance of all time, and the only one that has (so far) survived the continual Creed degradation (looking at you, Aventus). I don’t think you could ever wear this and overpower anyone, as it is not strong in the sense that it doesn’t shoot up your nose or have any sharp or chemical edges. I just feel it gives me and anyone close to me a gentle hug and a feeling of warmth.
