The braces therefore become shorter too, eventually comprising individual holders with bars at the top. 660 of these elements are included, appearing in dark bluish grey for the first time. The primary supports do look relatively bulky beside these small braces, but I think was a necessary compromise for their width to remain consistent between the base and the summit. Approaching this review, I expected 10307 Eiffel Tower to impress, although doubted whether its unprecedented size was truly necessary. Fortunately, I was wrong. The designer has definitely taken advantage of the scale to include extensive detail, but more remarkable is this model's outstanding display value, through its combination of size and intricacy. Speaking of planning, you definitely want to plan ahead as it has a footprint of 57 x 57cm, and is of course awkwardly tall, so placing it on a desk or shelf doesn’t really work.

Once this section is complete, it attaches to the lower half and is secured with four 2×2 tiles at the join. Plus, when you're finished, you'll have a beautiful piece to display in your home or office. It contains an eye-watering 10,001 pieces and is marked for ages 18+ for good reason – even if a much younger builder has the skills to build it, do they have the patience? It’s also important to note that it is really tall (149 cm / 59”) — which could be a challenge for smaller builders of any age. At long last we’ve reached the top of the tower. A small ring of windows is fleshed out with transparent 1×1 and 1×2 plate. On the sides of the Eiffel Tower, 72names of French scientists, engineers, and mathematicians are engraved in recognition of their contributions, and they’re represented here by the dark grey “gold bar element”, with 18 on each side!The interior gets some set dressing with a wooden desk, chair, and table. The scale is accordingly close to 10294 Titanic and particularly 21042 Statue of Liberty, with the latter being another of Eiffel's engineering works. There’s just enough room for a minifigure to stand behind the telescopes and put them to use. Considering the apartment is almost 1000 feet in the air already, it must allow for quite the view of the Paris cityscape. Yes, there are plenty of repetitive sections, and the lattices in particular get pretty dull after the 40th one, and you’re mostly building in dark grey BUT it didn’t drag on.
