Kotto’s life changed at 16 when he saw Marlon Brando in On the Waterfront. He “knew from that moment I wanted to be an actor”. He enrolled in a local theatre school and made his stage debut as Othello at 19. His first film role was uncredited in Four for Texas (1963); his first credit came in the 1964 civil rights drama Nothing But a Man, starring Ivan Dixon, Abbey Lincoln and Julius Harris, who 24 years later played Kotto’s henchman Tee Hee in Live and Let Die. This is an original US Half Sheet poster for the first Roger Moore James Bond film Live and Let Die. The ‘O’,’O’ characters in Roger Moore’s name work perfectly with the 007 designation. Robert McGinnis produced the artwork and he gives everything to this poster ‘ tarot cards, death gods, voodoo dolls of Bond, sharks, crocodiles, speedboats, county police cars, machine guns and of course beautiful femmes fatales. This is exactly the same picture as the UK quad film for the film but slightly smaller in scale. This was the eighth film in the James Bond series produced by Eon Productions, and the first to star Roger Moore as James Bond. It was directed by Guy Hamilton, and based on Ian Flemings second Bond novel, which was published in 1954.
