Description

The bottle design is inspired by traditional ceramics of Sargadelos which are also made in Galicia and are synonymous with utilising singular designs and white and blue colours. With tonic, the journey is lengthened a little but the flavours aren’t much different from when tasted neat. Delicately perfumed with 12 different Galician botanicals, including lemongrass, hibiscus and peppermint, Nordes is a soft, sweet gin with the flavours of sherbert, peaches and red fruits. There is too much dark purple fruit flavor in the gin, and a bit too little crispness and juniper to easily make a classic martini.

It is the most unique gin I have ever tasted, It's a "I can't quite get my head around it" type of gin. Nordes is a very contemporary gin that pushes the boundaries of traditional gin but in a very good way - unique, and interesting. These ceramics are distinctive because of the uniqueness of their designs and the use of white and blue colours. As well as 6 botanicals which grow wild in Galicia, it also has 5 which are sourced overseas, each one macerated separately until the exact aroma is achieved.Nordés is the product of a discussion over a meal with three friends – a sommelier, a wine entrepreneur and a master distiller – who wanted to create a spirit that was true to the Galician region. Wine spirit, the soul of the gin, is produced by using Galician Albariño grapes, and this distillate is macerated with 11 botanicals, 6 which are native to Galicia, Samphire, Sage Bay, Lemon Verbena, Eucalyptus and Peppermint. To that they added 6 local botanicals, lemon verbena, bay leaf, mint, sage, eucalyptus, and Glasswort (a plant that grows along the seashore and in marshes and is also known as “pickle weed”).
