Revealed after the player had completed The Quest For R2-D2 game as each of the four characters – Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Asajj Ventress and Count Dooku – were four sets of instructions that allowed for the 749-piece midi-scale model of the Malevolence to be assembled. The casual builder should note that the maroon 4 x 6 tiles with studs on the edges with the two white 2 x 6 plates underneath are just for positioning the elements that make up the forward structure. These can be replaced with pieces of any other color – which will come as a relief for anyone who knows how brittle +10-year-old maroon plates can get. Box Front. Very nice detail. You have to be a Jedi to think you can go up against a cyborg with 4 lightsabers! This front shot reminds me of old anime ship called the Space Battleship Yamato. At the bow of the ship, it had a huge cannon called a Wave motion gun.. Maybe the Malevolence was built with this ship in mind. But instead of a Wave motion gun, the Malevolence carried a Ion Cannon. Which instead of disintegrating the enemy ships, it disables them so the ships could be recycled for parts and booty.

I'm not to happy of the grey canards that jut out of the front sides. For the most part, it is symmetrical in shape. But there are a few greebels that make the left and right sides a bit different.Designed by Erik Varzegi, one of the designers in the model building workshop at the LEGO offices in Enfield CT, the gestalt Malevolence was a LEGO Star Wars promotion that has never been repeated. Here you can see both the left and right sides opened up. The top folds up and the smaller flap folds down. now you have room to slide the railcars a bit. Just a tiny bit. Keep in mind this ship is supposed to be almost 3 miles long. So the railcars was needed to move fast around the ship. Lots of extra parts. Or did I forget something. Augh! Droids without hands. Just kidding. They have their hands. Box Rear. You can see how much of the ship can be changed into a play set for the minifigs. And I love the multiple profiles of the ship. This was a nice ship design. It reminds me of a modern ship. Long and skinny. Also, just a hint of Nemo's submarine, the Nautilus.
