Geez... I get that something's better than nothing but seeing "Choose One" in big bold letters for games that could've all been bundled for free for this extremely short period of time just feels stingy. The new console ties in with Nintendo’s ongoing Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary celebrations, which have seen the company release Super Mario 3D All-Stars. That collection includes Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy, but it's only available until March 31st.

I agree. If they had made the console red and then maybe blue joycons or something they would have had huge response, especially even from current Switch owners. Oh well. I love that they give you a choice. That was one of my favorite things about the wiiu give away days. I wouldn't be surprised. They had a similar approach with Wii and Wii U. Then again, this is post-Iwata Nintendo. They've done a lot of things that are atypical to their habits in the past. I wouldn't completely blame them either. Switch won't keep the momentum up for more than two years. People just lose interest and want something new.

I understand their strategy of utilising existing hardware and existing software - including the porting of older games - and that all makes absolute sense given the Wii U's sales performance and efficiently driving middle/end of lifecycle for Switch. Plenty of people haven't played Mario Bros U and Odyssey - all makes sense to use them here.

I just don’t get it Nintendo. I’m convinced their sales and marketing teams are screwing them over. Nintendo recently changed the release date for the Super Mario Bros. Movie yet again, but this time moving it forward two days for the US and over 60 other global markets, with the highly anticipated film now launching on April 5th, 2023.
