This was a much lighter fantasy book that was so fun to read in contrast to the other fantasy books I’ve read. I have to strongly emphasize how so much, yet, soo little happened in it. It was also fast paced with shorter chapters 🙌 While it didn’t leave off on a crazy cliffhanger, it did leave off on Eva’s assumptions 🥲 I already can’t wait to start the second book and potentially be an emotional mess Even if he really is grey I loved every single interaction between he and Ev. I really can’t wait to discover their relationship more 🙌 I was literally swooning every time he was in the scene. His looks, the way he carried himself, PERRRRFECT! It never happened to me to associate a book to a colour this much, but this book was pink all over and I loved it 💕🌸 A sugar-crusted, poison-spiked romp through a vibrant world of fairy tale intrigue, tangled romance, and forbidden magic’ Cassandra Clare, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Last Hoursi absolutely adored this universe. it was just so magical and enchanted. the curses, the potions, the prophesies, and true love being the end all be all. my hopelessly romantic heart was living for this.

The plot of this story, moved at the pace of me trying to go to the bathroom in a socially awkward situation. It jumped, hurdled, didn't miss anything, flew, outright told me to clear my schedule BECAUSE I WAS FINISHING THE BOOK IN ONE SITTING and I absolutely followed its instructions. The world was so magical, the chapters arrested my attention and held it hostage for the majority of the book. I adored the premise of how grandiose everything was. I was smiling and giggling whenever the characters would go from mystery to mystery, trying to solve it all. The scent of candied apples and oh, so delicious vials of poison made me all the more interested in the book and my goodness, I didn't regret a thing (okay, maybe I did, but that's not the point). I was on the edge of my seat for everything occurring, swooning into a mount of pillows every five seconds, basically dying over all the new characters and AHHHH, it was beautiful. eva was an amazing fmc. i resonated with her so much and i absolutely love her. she gives off this energy where she sees the best in people. although she can be easily deceived by this, & it can get maddening at times to read abt it. i loved her determination and hope after everything she’s been through and the way she never lost herself. it also felt as though seeing things through eva’s pov also cushioned the betrayal of the characters. she trusted in marisol too much despite everyone’s warning and it wasnt a hard blow knowing marisol’s character was as everyone warned her of.

It was mouthwatering, and honestly... boo, teach me how to write like that, because hot dang! I need some of that 'SPWICE'. i think that the guilt aspect of this book wasn’t bad. there wasn’t any repetition and it isn’t mentioned constantly or anything which definitely shows character development since she’s written caraval. i appreciated the way that evangeline’s emotions were portrayed bc i loved it. it wasn’t spectacular or anything but it definitely was far from bad. i felt like there wasn’t much drama in this book. He held on to her as if she were a grudge, his body rigid and tense, as if he really didn’t want her there, and yet his arms were tight around her waist as though he had no intention of ever letting her go.” It was fast paced and the plot was good, tbh. It kept me glued to my seat reading, reading and reading... I didn't even care about anything else.

For me, going into this book, was a magical adventure.✨ I knew Stephanie could write a story, but here she wrote a fairytale, a stunning and breathtaking book. I can stand you being all whiny because of Luc, I truly understood half of what you were feeling. But you were expecting a PRINCE, to fall for you, (and no, I don't mean Prince of Hearts) just because of a kiss? Technically he did, but that's not what I mean- Do I believe she could've been a smarter, better MC? Absolutely. However, she was actually pretty nice at times and I liked her for the majority of the story. Yes, I'm aware I contradicted myself. It's part of my charm, *snort*.
