I've been playing for going on 25 years, I use a Marshall JCM 2000 and an orange TH30. I also use a line 6 HD500x pedal board in my effects loops. For the most part, all of the ESP LTD lines of guitars are modeled after ESP’s official premium guitars. The LTD EC-1000 is no exception, sharing the same design as the ESP Eclipse E-II. It certainly appeals mostly to those who prefer playing heavier genres, allowing them to enjoy the benefits of its great sustain, aggressive sound, and physical predispositions for a super-fast style of play.

In terms of playability, this is one of the EC-1000’s best qualities. Since the guitar is built so well, it plays like a dream right out of the box. I really didn’t even need to do a major setup when I first got it. This version of the EC-1000 features the EverTune bridge. The EverTune bridge has a revolutionary design that ensures your guitar stays in perfect tune no matter what. It does this by keeping a constant state of tension on the strings regardless of temperature or humidity changes. If you live in an area where there is a lot of climate change or is humid, you should definitely consider this model. It sounds like it’s too good to be true, but I can assure you that it works like a dream. There’s a bit of a learning curve when it comes to setting one up properly, but once done, you basically never have to retune your guitar. You can turn on the tuners, bend as much as you want, and your guitar will keep the tune regardless of what you do. In terms of build quality, this guitar is the best you’re going to find in this price range. As a high-end Korean-made guitar, it’s definitely meant to be a workhorse for even professional players. For example, FR models are ones with Floyd Rose, QM have a quilt maple top, and if you see Evertune in the name, that is another version of EC-1000 with a different bridge. For those unaware, Evertune allows you to keep your guitar in tune no matter what.

ESP company started working in 1975 in Japan. Their primary focus was electric guitars and basses. ESP was one of many companies that offered replacement parts for guitars in the seventies. Players soon started to realize that ESP offered not only spare parts for guitars, but was also able to design a guitar from scratch based on the players’ wishes. During the nineties, ESP introduced LTD which was a sub-brand that offered similar guitars for a fraction of the price. ESP LTD guitars usually boast exceptional durability and this instrument is no different. It’s made of solid dense tonewood and all the components feel very firm and reliable too. If an item can not be repaired, a similar alternative product or cash discount (as defined in this policy) will be offered But why would you? You already have EMGs/Fishman/Seymour Duncan in your guitar, and you will have a challenging time finding something better. Needless to say, it comes to a personal preference and what kind of sound you’re looking for.

Now if you’ve made it this far into the review, you can tell that I think very highly of this guitar. Unfortunately for me, I have small fingers, so this is always something that bothers me on single cut guitars. A small weak point to consider: The frets on this guitar definitely needed more attention. Their edges feel a bit sharp and uneven, so prepare to do some polishing before you get into some serious riffing. Sound Nevertheless, if you are used to this feature and need to have it on every guitar you own, beware that this instrument doesn’t come with a factory preinstalled tremolo, and it’s also quite problematic to find a separately sold tremolo that would fit it. Are there any alternatives? ESP LTD M100FM Nevertheless, if you’re convinced that this is your instrument of choice even though it’s out of your budget, you might want to consider getting yourself a second-hand EC-1000. High-quality guitars usually work very well even after several years of service. Some mediocre detailsThe body features a Les Paul single cut style, but much thinner. This makes it a lot more comfortable to rest in your lap. The layout of control knobs on this guitar goes as follows: Volume/Volume/Tone, and Toggle Switch. What this guitar doesn’t have is a tremolo, so if you’re used to this feature, ESP LTD EC-1000 might not be your guitar of choice. Reliability Even though the guitar looks like Les Paul, there are many differences between these two models. Firstly, the body of EC-1000 is a bit different, and it is quite comfortable to play even if you are sitting.
