For now, Scooby Doo Mystery Machine becomes the seventh set in the second LEGO Ideas review stage of 2023. It does suffer slightly from certain design necessities, however it looks great and is an iconic vehicle that . The most interesting thing about Fred and Shaggy are their brand new hairpieces, with both making their debut in the Scooby Doo theme. Like almost everything at the amusement park, the LEGOLAND Hotel is a full of LEGO-inspired designs (and plenty of actual LEGO bricks, minifigures, and models)!

This is an alternate build for the Mystery Machine that allows the entire team of Mystery Inc to fit in the vehicle. For play features, I was delighted to discover that the back of the Mystery Machine opens up in a very doll-house like manner to reveal a tightly designed interiors with plenty of cool little Easter Eggs. For kids, I would say the play value of all the Scooby-Doo set is quite high since you get both heroes and villains (though I think the tree and zombie combo is one of the lamer villains in the set). Work out the real identity of the Zombie who is secretly operating the tree… then celebrate with a giant sandwich!The set features a complete replica of The Mystery Machine and comes with Shaggy, Scooby Doo, Fred, and monster minifigures, perfect for reenacting iconic moments of the show. I don’t know if the Mystery Machine fits in the entire gang as I haven’t got all the Scooby Doo sets just yet, but I’ll be sure to test out if I can fit everyone in. Unlike the Disney Collectible Minifigure set (which had 18 minifigs in it), we are back to the usual 16 figures which I think is more reasonable. Fred and Shaggy are the two other main characters included and they’re both really likeable minifigures as well. LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, DUPLO, the FRIENDS logo, the MINIFIGURES logo, DREAMZzz, NINJAGO, VIDIYO and MINDSTORMS are trademarks of the LEGO Group.

Including an alternate head for Zombie would be even better but well, the back printing on the zombie head does it for me. The lobby is home to a giant wall of minifigures but even more impressive than that is a large LEGO-esque castle in the back of the lobby which doubles as a play area for children.A simple reconfiguration of the Mystery Machine’s original parts allows Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby to ride to their next mystery together. She found my son’s Scooby-Doo sets on a recent visit and commented that the gang could not all fit into the Mystery Machine like they do in the show. At first glance, I was excited because the shade of green made me believe that his face and arms were glow in the dark (they look exactly like glow in the dark stars) but alas they’re just regular plastic.
